Okay, so I realized after thinking about my previous post that those who took the time to look at it either thought, "Eww, minecraft in space, Nope", or thought, "What the heck is this?" So here's some more in depth info on the game.
While the game is in fact like minecraft in many ways, it is also much more involved and more in depth.
The following are capable within the game currently, no mods or plugins required:
Dynamic economy determined by what NPC stations have what and how much.
Trade is possible between the multitude of stations by way of mining, processing and creating the individual commodities for sale.
Territories can be claimed, fought over, and dynamically change hands over the course of different battles and such.
There are NPC pirates and factions that can be fought as well as scrapped for parts.
Planets can be mined and built on
Dynamic NPC stations of all sorts are spawned dynamically in the universe and remain where they spawn.
The entire universe, it's millions upon millions of solar systems with jump points between each to be discovered and controlled, black hole systems that Will literally throw you out the other side of the galaxy, and, oh yeah, multiple galaxies.
While games like Star Citizen and Freelancer and other such space sims are meant to portray a dynamic and vast, ever expanding universe, Starmade has it, already, and can be customized to whatever designs and means you wish. while at the same time, is less expensive and less resource heavy on computers. Currently, I have the ability to host a dedicated Starmade server but I was thinking that given how large this community is, that the Admins, Devs and Mods could discuss possibly running one for all of us.
in short, we could do a sudo remake of Disco in a much more vast environment where we could all literally discover whats out there together, fight over what is whos and who can go where, and maybe have a bit of RP along the way?
