There has been some things Ive noticed and have to admit it has been a while since I last played. But I am wondering if somethings have changed and where to find it. I asked and got answers. Scary didn't make sense answers from knowledgeable people. Who were then corrected by other Knowledgeable people. Then there was no real answer trustworthy anymore. My favorite was people linking me to closed threads still unsettled. Some threads did have the answers. But that didnt seem to matter. So ive compiled these questions here as a fall back. It lead me to believe everyone else knows where the info is. I use the Wiki. And game Lore. This changed?
Anyways a few questions. May Ramble. Please sight your sources if you respond back. I get that a lot of players are knowledgeable. Or RP for individuals changes their out look. But as accurate as possible.
1.The Hogasha still "collect" the trash and their old enemies are the Junkers?
Is this still just? Hogasha
**((Individual opinions vary, but most police consider the Hogosha a necessary evil<< required for the smooth functioning of Kusari society. The government simply treats the Hogosha like any other large keiretsu and the Kusari population as a whole has a similar attitude: It is pointless<< to like or dislike the Hogosha; they are simply a fact of life. The Hogosha handle Artifact and gun smuggling and the fencing of stolen goods.)) The kusari Junkers if you will.
2. And Liberty. I have to admit its been a while, when did players start viewing Liberty as good?? Almost divine. I get there is a regimented LN. But do they know what they are protecting exactly? The foundation of Liberty was first and fore most Capitalist. Always have been from what I recall. Legal and Illegal slaves, Free-trade. They don't survive a second with a different system. The wall street of the systems if you will with regulations they themselves didn't create alone. The actual system Hot- spot. And first and for most its the spot all the houses know how to exsploit<<.
The LN still protect all the factions quasi and Lawful because Liberty needs all of them? And are they aware of this?
Capitalism. Is an economic system based on private ownership of the means of production and the creation of goods and services for profit.. All houses.
A CAPITALISM SYSTEM!
A social system based on the principle of individual rights.<<<<< Politically,<<<< it is the system of laissez-faire (freedom). Legally it is a system of objective laws. Economically, when such freedom is applied to the sphere of production its result is the free-market. A melting pot. Protected by a police force and even a navy.
Sure we have Ideas about the systems houses, corporations ect..., from what we experience. And I seen people take the time to write things that weren't true. Although it "felt" right. This has lead me and others a stray. And I get RP can change that for individuals. And that would make sense. But I have seen farmer Joe say that NASA now makes Ice cream equivalents here because they have that idea. And sure at times it feels right. Not trying to be rude. But where are these sources man! And they change the whole factions? I just cant seem to find the "changes." Which lead me to believe it is a miss conception. I dont mean the rouges. Example And I get that it "felt" right. ALG does what junkers do. So Junkers aren't needed if they miss behave.... Truth is ALG uses Junkers still no? And if this changed, source please.
If all this has changed, source please or fill me in as best as possible.
3. And Is there still a Capital ship etiquette so to speak. If that doesn't ring bells good good. ( and please dont create them because you hate these ships. Unless it actually exsists please.)
4. Can you engage in a battle to protect an ally. Example. My buddy, buddy tater tot is in a battle. I arrive. Can I engage to attack the one attacking my ally. This happens often on the server where there is arguments. So lets not pretend we all know the answer. I watched this interrupt game play for an hour. I just want to know before im faced with this. I seen it at least 4 times now. He said "You have to yada yada." She said." You were already fighting! I have a screen shot ect.." "My faction leader is an admin your in trouble."
5.What happens in a Un-lawful surrendering to the Law. Extra can't engage hours ect?
6. LPI can take bribes. Navy cant still apply?
7. =LSF= and {LN} Lore is that both think they are the vanguard. Really they are equal but LSF is departments and intel, agent style. LN is muscle and Immediate response. Neither has authority over the other?
8. Nomads can't physically leave there systems.. As in ooRP rule? Dont leave your systems? Or yes you are in charge of your own RP you can? Even if it is odd and you get shot on sight.
1. I don´t think Hogosha was ever interested in collecting junk, don´t know where Toris which mentioned this in the other thread got it from. Hogosha is something like organized crime syndicate, the closes real life example is yakuza. This means they run many legal businesses, but they are also involved in some shady things or directly illegal actions. But they succesfully pretend they do only legal things, so they got granted same rights as Kusari corporations by Kusari laws.
Also yes, Hogosha is still enemy of junkers everywhere, junkers are considered as "filth" by them. Their ID even gives them right to shoot junkers anywhere. By the way in Kusari junkers are not welcomed generally, by law they can be evicted/shot on sight.
2. I don´t understand what this question is about. Liberty is somewhere between capitalist democracy and corporatocracy but I´m not sure what you are asking about. If people there know it? I guess at least some do, when for example LPI is privatized police force.
And no, ALG doesn´t use junkers and I don´t think they ever did, from what information you think they do? They are specialized in handling waste including space junk, so why would they need junkers? There is reason why they have their own mining bonus for scrap mining.
3. I´m not sure what you mean by name. If it means some kind of code of conduct, then there is simple one - be fair at least little. If there is snubfight, don´t ruin it with battleship (or basically anything bigger than gunboat, even with just gunboat think twice if you won´t create huge powerplay). If you do that, no one can punish you, but as people say - it´s bad and you should feel bad. In the end even the side you came tu support may be annoyed by it because they might have enjoyed good balanced snubfight.
4. You can if your ID allows it and you do proper engagement notice. And if anyone use the sentence "My faction leader is an admin your in trouble.", feel free to report it. Not only it is against rules, but it is very likely lie.
5. Depends on situation and how it is RPed on the spot. But by rules there are not any limits, technically you can log back in ten minutes and continue in playing. However if you were arrested inRP expect to be shot next time with explanation you escaped from prison.
6. Everyone can take bribes, this is not considered as unlawful action by ID rules.
7. Yes, by rules neither of the factions is superior. And I think even by inRP laws.
8. Depends on ID you use. Nomad indie ID can´t leave Omicrons, Ellesmere and Alaska by ID rules at all. If you want to go elsewhere, you either have to use Nomad Trial ID (though you will be restricted to light fighter only) or become member of Khara player faction.
The wiki talked about ALg and Junkers. Where? Maybe in the ALG section I believe. Its all little foggy now. And thank you very much for taking the time to shed some light on it all.

I admit my mistake on this for what I'm really sorry. I always assumed there's no junk in Kusari because of Hogosha who took care of it, but then I dug out this rumor:
Quote:"We will never let the Junkers into Kusari space. For one thing, there is no junk. It was too precious for Kusari industry to ever throw away. The Junkers harbor many criminals that create problems for the other Houses." - Kabukicho Bartender Watamura Kyubei
I think Laura covered everything else well enough, but about the ALG thing:
You're probably thinking of Helgoland, which belonged to ALG when we cleaned up the Yanagi Debris field and was then sold off to the GMG.
There were Junkers on the station, and from the information you got on the base they were the ones that got scrap in really hazardous areas. You know, stuff corporate insurance wouldn't cover.
I wouldn't consider this "using", it's more that they worked in the same area on the same thing together. They still do, there's just no station like that anymore.
Don't use wiki, it's outdated except for stuff directly drawn from the game by scripts, like equipment data, ship stats, etc.
ALG Waste Disposal is pretty much what the name suggests, a company with the primary profile of waste disposal, be it scrap metal or toxic waste. Do they do the same as Junkers? Yes and no. They are specialised in what's basically the only main lawful profile of Junkers, but they don't do all the other unlawful activities Junkers are infamous for. For sources, check ALG info page, though I assume even the wiki may be somewhat up-to-date on this one as well.
That's for me for now, you also might want to poke @jammi for some infocard data, he is our local librarian around here.
I'm quite sure that the vast majority of Americans think that the United States of America acts as the land of the free and home of the brave, safeguarding freedom and liberty across the world as it has done since the two great wars between archaic, colonial and crucially, European powers of the last century. There is more than a little truth to this kind of belief. America was the steadying force in a world wrought with large scale conflict, acted out with new technology but in the style and tradition of napoleonic ambitions of conquest and dominion.
Such deeply held beliefs about being the "good guys", reinforced by everything from the requirement to sing the national anthem at school to Hollywood productions, would of course lead people to believe in protecting their country. In fact, I would think that there is sufficient evidence to place your average American, or maybe I should say the average Republican voter, on the same level as ideological and religious terrorists when it comes to how zealously they guard their beliefs.
As such, Americans see themselves as indisputably the good guys. I would expect Liberty to be the same, and for her people and especially her servicemen and women to believe that.
The discussion is not about the evils of Capitalism vs Socialism. One can argue all day about how certain economic systems serve to exploit workers, but frankly you might as well go read what was written over a century ago by Karl Marx. A lot of what he said is correct, but as a true philosopher, he offered only commentary on the systems in place at the time and how they may be changed to improve the lives of those who existed then. The Soviet Union especially lent weight to the point that it is better to at least operate on the basis of a system that predicts people will try to take advantage of each other for personal gain, than one which relies on collective responsibility and the feeling of duty one might feel to share what they have with those that have not.
As for supporting semi-lawful and unlawful elements because they need them, the United States of America followed Great Britain and the other great colonial powers in this respect. That is to say, the USA and by extension, Liberty, are quite pragmatic when it comes to what they define as their national interest. The USA has no problems with supporting terrorists and despots, or ignoring the principles of freedom and justice, when it suits them to do so. The last 50 years alone is littered with such examples.
Not to say they are any worse than any other regime out there. It is perhaps telling that even taking into account its faults, on balance I would still place America in the good category, if forced to choose between good and evil.
tl;dr - Libertonians see themselves as the good guys, because they view the world through coloured glasses (as do we all). The Navy and the LSF could not operate on any other basis than the belief that what they do is for the greater good. For if the road to hell can be paved with good intentions, can the opposite not be true?
