I've created an Order character with the intent of flying an Onuris light fighter.
Everything's fine and fun and all, but I'm a bit confused about the weapons layout of the ship. By default you get 2 "G19 Death's Hand Order Laser Cannon Mk V" guns and two Adv. Debilitator Mk I cannons. Keep in mind that all four of these slots are for class six guns.
I want to get rid of the debilitators because I want to use only Order guns but I can't seem to find Death's hand Mk V's anywhere and according to flstat they don't even exist. According to the wiki those things are class 9 guns anyways. The only class 6 order guns there are (according to flstat) are Death's hand Mk II's and Reaper Mk II's.
So what am I missing here? Is this a mistake in the game? if I unequip the Mk V's will I not be able to re-equip them because they are in fact class 9 guns? Or am I just not seeing the obvious?

On a general light fighter note, do people tend to use the best armor upgrades light fighters can hold (even though that will take up nearly a half of the cargo space which you probably don't need anyways?) Also, is the sidewinder the best missile launcher and fortified CM dropper the best CM dropper? I want to be sure of this before investing in upgrades.
Thank you all for the help, very much appreciated!
Hey there. All classes sorta got a rework. LF's have their own respective arsenal now with lvl6 weapons. They also deal 30% more damage than usual guns for HF, VHF and SHF, which are lvl 8 and 9. That means for light fighters that you can actually equip codename guns (lvl7) as well but no missiles, as far as I know. Not sure, though.
As for armor upgrades, you always wanna get the best one, since LF's are already very fragile. As for CM, it depends on what you want. do you want more range on them and give you more time to react or the other way around? imo theres no choice better than the other
And yes, you should equip every snub with Armor Upgrade VIII(8) to maximize your combat efficiency.
Though you will die to Nuclear or even Ripper mines. Just being 20m away from a Nuclear mine and someone CDs you, you're basically dead man. So watch out.
Sidewinder is "ok"... I guess. Though missiles and Starkiller torpedoes can be countered by simply shooting a CD when you hear the dink dink, and those missiles will blow up and might even damage yourself. And yes, Fortified Countermeasure Dropper is the best for snubs. People go for the Sentinel Countermeasure Dropper in bigger ships.
Well that's not complicated at all. So even though it says the slots are for class 6 guns I can equip class 7 guns as well? And codenames are class 7 now? Though normally class 7 is for what, VHFs?
I was able to equip a sidewinder missile launcher on the CD slot and it works fairly well against NPCs.
I'll get an armor upgrade then as well, thanks for the help.
Class 6 guns are Light fighter only, there are also class 6 CODENAME guns ( got downgraded from class 9 ) . some light fighters can equipm missiles to their CD slots too, dunno if that is intentional.
Class 7-8 are Heavy fighter and Very Heavy Fighter guns, you can't mount those to class 6 slots. Heavy fighters can also equip fighter torpedoes and can also have a missile in the CD slit ( at least I could in a Jackdaw ).
Class 9 are CODENAME VHF guns so they only fit on those, nothing else.
Class 10 are for missiles only you're not suppose to find any class 10 guns anymore.
The "can equip a missile instead of a CD" part is not written anywhere, I only found it while making ini entries for ships I'm making, and cause I actually did that on my Jackdaw
On Sidewinders, they are not bad, I usually ude those when I can plant them directly into the face of the enemy, and if I time it right, it might even blow the mine behind him ( if it's still close enough )

Yes, thank you!
That leaves me with just two more questions if I may.
First, so what's up with the Death's Hand Mk V's that the Onuris comes with? Can't seem to find them anywhere and they don't exist in flstat. Are they just a present for buying that ship? Because why would I get the Mk II versions of that (which are class 6) when I have what is supposedly three versions better?
And second, where do I find class 6 codenames? Of course you don't have to answer this (maybe just a clue ) and I can go out and explore/hunt by myself.

the Mk V gun getting stuck on the Onuris is probably a leftover from the previous version of gun setups, because even though the gun is not buyable anymore, it does exsist in game files ( for the sake of NPCs probably ) and if the ships salepoint package in the designated INI files was not changed to give the ship with the proper class 6 guns, it will keep giving you a gun that isn't even buyable. However, it's not a deffinate fact that the Mk. V is better now than the Mk II. because devs can be tricky at times
Also, I figured I'd give you an update. I did some more checking and those Mk V's that you get as default are much worse than the Mk II's you can buy. So naturally I sold them and the difference is noticeable. Thanks again!
Glad I could help. I didn't have time to check , but I had a harsh feeling it is just some sort of leftover and it's a weakened NPC version of the Death's Hand.
