You know 3 men with machine guns are coming to your house to kill you and your family. You have a knife, they will see you coming, they are ready and will shoot you. Do you run blindly at the men and die for certain, leaving you family to die as well. Or do you stay at home and spend your last moments together with them?
Straying off topic, sorry. :\
Edit: Read my dang posts, Zelot. I never said this was about fairplay, I brought fairplay to light to show that some things overrule RP, like not wanting to fight.
So, if someone wants to RP a Corsair, then one time decides "I don't feel like getting slaughtered by the BHG right now, and I just don't feel like PvP." they have to change their character and be a Zoner? No, that's what I call elitist.
' Wrote:Carlos: Yes, read my edit. I agree with logging off if you can't, or don't feel like fighting.
Zelot: No, it has everything to do with it.
Some things overrule RP, simply because this -is a game-.
Fairplay sometimes overrules RP. Real life overrules RP. Not wanting to fight overrules RP.
Sorry, whine and moan over that last one all you want. Not fighting is your bloody choice, and not doing so will not get you sanctioned.
I doubt many people would disagree with you on that, though afew would.
No one would disagree with the right of a Corsair to dock and log off at the first sight of an enemy (though some might lose a bit of respect for them).
The argument is about "sitting idly by" in space. Arguably, the BHG should never have allowed them to do so, anyway.
"Not fighting is your bloody choice"- and that choice is made as you pass through the docking ring.
I think we've established that, and that was the issue at the centre of this argument.
I'd also like to add, as an aside, that EVERY situation in RL can be RPed through chat.
Server Shutdown: Solar storm incoming.
Dinner's ready: Ship system malfunction, guys. I'm gonna have to dock. Good luck! //gfs.
Wife is in labour: Message from Crete. My wife's gone into labour. You'll do fine without me, hermanos. Preparing to land.

<nods in agreement>
Now, however, while this topic would have probably been resolved and agreed upon peacefully, Zelot will now continue to be the one that "would disagree with [me] on that".
Okay folks, I think we've agreed that Carlos is spot on the money and we can all go home nodding our heads in agreement.
Orin no need to attack someone based on presumption, it's an ugly thing to have to witness. Black Tigar if you're going to post in this forum try more than three words, it looks neater. Now all, I think this is in need of a wee touch of the Chubb.
