Well, after being taken hostage by the Gaians for "accidently" landing on a cow, I'm back! I know; it's been tough without me, but there's no need to get all upset about it... anyway, without further ado, let's get on the the most favourite part of ANYTHING.... the reviews! I am sending you these via the Galactic Times, everyone's favourite newspaper!
Also, I've angered a lot of different groups because of my political stance. I just want to say to all, I am neutral to everyone, and I'm not here to start a war!
If you would like to write an article about an article I've written or anything else, please, give me a buzz! I'm usually on Planet Malta, because those unknown systems, I think, are both beautiful and dangerous! So yes, anything to say? Say it to me at PLANETMALTA:OMICRONALPHA889638.
Thank you, and enjoy!
Please, don't forget, you can get in contact with me on the Planet Malta. The big PM. You know where to find me.
What has Liberty ever given us? Their ships, I find, generally aren't the... greatest of quality. True, I've been away from civilisation for awhile now and things may just have changed, but in my old crime days, Liberty was just an easy target. Oh, they tried! One thing you really can say about Liberty and it's authorities is that they have spirit, but perhaps they just don't know how to give up...
Maybe that was a little bit harsh... I used to have an old Patriot I stole, and indeed it got me from A to B without much hassle, and I loved it when it was loading up for me to cruise, the way it would suck the stars into the back of its engine, ready to take off, but... it just didn't really do anything for me.
Anyway, a friend of mine told me that there was a new Very Heavy Fighter out, produced by Liberty, no less! I headed off and bought one: a Guardian.
(Taken from Discovery's Wiki)
Just before I bought the ship, I asked the ship dealer a little about it. He told me a very well rehearsed piece of typical Liberty bragging, even saying that "this here beast could survive even in them Edge Worlds". Well, this I had to try out.
On the way up to Omicron Alpha (the Outcasts and I have a... mutual agreement. Did I say mutual? I ment neutral...) I was checking out the usual stuff, mainly the turning and whatnot. Even though it looks like it can turn well like the Eagle, you're wrong. It's a bit more like the Outcast's Sabre which they gave me/neutrally recieved.
Now, my favourite part of any ship because I am an artistic journalist explorer: the guns. Well, this is why the price tag is lowered slightly. Four Class 10's, one Class 9 and a Class 5 turret. In my opinion, they could've squeesed in another turret. You are expected to part with over 1.5million credits to get this ship, and if I have to give any advice, it would be that there are better VHF's out there, if you are willing to pay a little bit extra.
One thing I haven't mentioned yet it the looks. To me, it looks just like a cooler version of the Patriot. With it's almost Kusari-esq wings and imposing structure, it is deffinatly worth the money for it's looks. Almost like a better version of the Order's Anubis.
So, I docked at Malta, and spoke to the ship dealer about comparing one of my favourite VHF's (even if it isn't technically the best), the Sabre with the Guardian. The Guardian surprized me, it had better "armor" (that's how those guys in Liberty spell it anyway...) and Cargo Space than the Sabre, but obviously lacked the same fire-power.
The Guadian is just a souped-up version of the ol' Defender, so if you enjoyed that and you're looking for an upgrade, this is deffinatly the next step. If you're looking for something very "Liberty", then this is for you. If you want to try out a VHF, but don't want to spend to much, this is fo you.
I don't dislike this ship, on the contrary, I think it's quite good, but the lack of that extra fire-power is a bit of a turn-off. Really, at the end of it, it's your choice. Although if it's not you're choice, go out there and get friendly with some criminals!
