I'm sure that you're aware of the reason why I'm contacting you. Agents from the Liberty Security Agency found your ship, a Pilgrim Liner, carrying Business Delegates. This is a clear violation of Liberty Law, which states the following under Section IV, Non-Violent Crimes:
Quote:Improper passenger conditions.
This is defined as the crowding of people into a ship not designed for such tasks. The carrying of more than 650 passengers, VIPs, delegates, or any other classification of people in any ship not listed here is to be considered unlawful. Officers may demand that said people be dropped off at the nearest station or transferred to their own vessel as well as demand a fine.
Liners and Yachts (minus the "Pilgrim" liner which is deemed improper for Human Cargo) and Armored Transports are exempt from the passenger limit regulations as they are designed to carry human cargo.
As such, I am obligated to fine you 10,000,000 credits for this infraction, payable to LPI-Rikers within 72 hours. Evidence is attached below for your convenience.
James sits down in his captains chair reading over the transmission, evidence and fines.
"This is ridiculous! Im going to plead my case not to mention this agent of theirs was rude."
He leans back in his chair and presses a button on his arm rest.
"Good day this is Captain James Woods of the Phoencia I am a bit outraged at this...I have read through your laws and see the clause about my liner but who is to say my vessel is not fit with the proper safety measures and seating for my passengers. For your information my vessel is up to code and I even offered to the agent to inspect my vessel and come aboard he refused to do so and it also felt as if he was trying to extort me. Now for your information as well not all delegates from companies can afford such fine travels which is why they hired me. With this all being said I will refuse to pay this fine until an official representative of your Inspection Department has done a report on my vessel....which I have already done before and paid for the inspection....forgive me for my attitude but get yourselves together before throwing fines everywhere."
He stands up quickly out of his chair with a balled fist.
You mentioned something about already having had a proper inspection.
If you can provide evidence of this inspection, which must be conducted by a government-approved agency and includes an official message and/or license from the Liberty Government stating that you are allowed to carry human cargo in your Pilgrim Liner (that is also dated before the time that the incident took place), then the fine will be lifted and you can go about your business. Otherwise, the fine will stand.
Additionally, it is not the duty of the LPI to provide inspection services after the crime has been committed, although we can direct you to our recommended associate inspection companies, if you so desire, to avoid future incidents like these.
I also apologize for the late reply, and will extend your fine timer.
You have an extra 48 hours to present evidence of a proper license or pay the fine.
