Revamped mining system

I would be happy if GMG can collect H-fuel raw in the Sigmas.
It's significant cloud that GMG has control of and it would vastly help our RP.
Personally I don't mind if there is competition for collecting raw resources, attempts taking over the Sigmas have happened in Disco lore before and it would happen again. It also makes our security forces more viable as we would be not only protecting indestructible bases but also protecting our resources so our miners can harvest them.
If it was restricted to our ID I still wouldn't mind. We'd still be able to improve our RP with mining and our Security Division would still have it's hands full protecting players that are mining.

Well just look at Kuraine's post.. He said what would happen in 4.85 about it..
Basically it will be:

Better mining for:
-miner ships
-that have miner IDs
-special miner guns

Dunno about the gas mining though. Don't think it'll happen unfortunately...

I dont think it should be based on ID rather gun or some other ship addon, as what happens to Zoners that mine?

former IMG or BMM or GMG or anyother mining faction employees cant go mining independently?

why not just make it so all can access the bigger harvest of minerals.

but i wholeheartedly support the idea of making mining a viable alternative to trading. i dont know what it is, trading is so boring, at least with mining you can shoot something

Yes well I said mining guns.. It goes like this I think:

For example..normal yield is 10 something

With mining gun you get 30
With miner ID you get 20
With certain mining IDs(some mine some materials better or worse) you get even more
With mining ship you get 10 more..

Etc. etc.

Although it will be less than what I said, it will work something like that I think.. The bonuses add to each other I'd say

I just wanted the mining ship to have an actual purpose... if asteroids use the tradelanes and maybe even disrupt them and pirate, I'd deal with it:laugh:

Ah... if we can avoid this sort of problem, I think that the asteroid-NPC thing would be a good idea. We could always combine it with the FLHook plugin as well.

We'd need to make another faction for the asteroids though, so that no one's rep goes down. Maybe make 'em enemies with all the miner factions, so that you get rep with them? Just a little bonus:)

Or not... just make 'em completely neutral to all players, and have it so that killing them doesn't lower your rep to them. Making them enemied to all miners would result in mining raising both your BMM AND IMG reps at the same time. That is not good, in case you did not know.

Another good thing what good for miners if the modders place some new raw material what ONLY mineable, not buyable nowhere, and sellable for real money in example major houses capitals. Example - if I remember right - Orkney has an empty asteroid field, and some other "empty" system has "empty" field, what useable. This could be good for IMG or other border word factions, and house miner companies can send their miners and escorts there if these fields are close to their ZoI.

Yeah, I was thinking that. Not really any way to get around it with hours of work already just implanting one faction; it's not the easiest thing to do -_- Anyways, forget what I said about the miner thingy, neutral to all would be fine.
