Good evening, Max Kuppke speaking from our New Berlin building. We begin today's news broadcast.
Rheinland Military Returns Home
The Rheinland military has announced a reduction in its frontline forces today, signalling the final hurdle in the climbdown from the conflict with Liberty. A military spokesperson has assured the nation that the remaining forces will be more than adequate to defend Rheinland’s borders during this time of peace and will soon be returning to patrol the region.
“We are committed to safeguarding the Rheinland people and their interests, this reduction in operational forces is a reflection of that promise, ensuring the taxpayers credits are utilised in a fair and reasonable manner.
The active fleet will be redeployed to focus on internal security alongside the Federal Police to ensure that the security of the tradelanes and our borders are maintained at the highest possible level.”
Prosperity Reigns as Peace Returns
Trade has taken a distinct upturn in recent months as corporations from both Rheinland and Liberty return to pre-conflict operations. The void created by the wartime embargo is steadily being filled by corporations from Liberty settling back into an opportunity filled market and Rheinland mineral exports have seen a sharp increase in demand from Libertonian shipyards as Royalist forces enact heavy losses upon the California defenders.
Just Average Crops?
The SynthFoods has been having some setbacks lately on Stuttgart. They are expecting an average crop after the market prediction was shared this quarter. Stuttgart farming officials say that the decrease in the use of Synthpaste by the Military since the end of the War with Liberty has caused a decrease in their production staffing as well as how much they are planning to hold in storage. They assure everyone that the no areas of Rheinland will be lacking in Synthpaste for this season.
Court Ordered Rehab For Filmstar
In other news, famous actress Ada Hartstein was forced into court ordered rehabilitation for alcoholism earlier this week. The star of TV series Bitter/Sweet and cult thriller Stilettos and Silk was placed under arrest at her mansion home after neighbours reported a potential break in at the residence. Responding officers found Miss Hartstein in a drunken rage amidst several shattered windows and becoming increasingly violent, officers arrested Miss Hartstein on charges for assaulting a police officer and disturbing the peace. The actress was not available for comment.
Stay tuned for more on those and other news. I'm Max Kuppke, and this is Rheinland Today.
