So, instead of actually fixing things, admins decided to shoot server in the leg. Both of it's legs, actually.
Said players may not always conduct themselves friendly towards others, or even rational. But they were very blood, which made things work around here.
This's really, really sad.
Where can I submit motion of no confidence towards Admin Team?
If you trust the staff but dont hold them accountable were not doing OUR job.
If they dont bend to the facts and admit mistakes thier not doing THIER job.
but in this instence i dont see either really. i think this is more of an exsperement to see if the water contains 60% less urine then before. only time will really tell here.

I would like to preface this by saying the following, and this is as someone with extensive experience as a moderator and administrator, both in the technical and community aspect:
The administration of a community exists to serve the users. The users are the lifeblood of the community; if the actions of the administration reflect poorly on the users (as they are right now), the userbase will shrink. People will be discouraged from joining the community and, in time, the community will become the topic of horror stories among veterans and newbies alike. Good job, guys, if it wasn't there already -- Discovery is on the way now.
Now, onto business:
The unfortunate reality of this situation is that this is the culmination of years and years of player ignorance of staff procedure. Things like this had been going on for as long (if not longer) than I've been an entity in this community -- and it's perplexing that only now are people wising up to it and saying "Hey, this is bogus, why do you do this thing?" The ENTITY that is the administration of Discovery has proven (in spite of exceptions) time and time again that they have little regard for the playerbase. Our sandbox was only our own until it stepped on the toes of someone higher up the chain than ourselves, and where the administration was meant to provide stability for the players, all it did was screw us. Repeatedly. Now we're seeing the ultimate endgame: rather than making the lives of individuals a living hell while the rest of us looked on and said "it's not them, it's you", they're giving people they dislike the bum's rush in full view. Then, when you consider the contributions certain members on this hitlist have made to the community, things become all the more peculiar: this isn't the wanton overreaction to """"problematic"""" users -- this is, in part, a systematic removal of capable contributors who threaten the work of someone or someones already entrenched in the two technical branches of the community.
While the administration will, as they always have, complain about how the community bullies them, how they are unappreciated, how they are seen in the eyes of the average Freelancer -- we must ask ourselves this: Do they deserve any better? Is the attitude held toward the administration an expression of some innate, pervasive hate of authority, or is it an expression of the total and abject frustration of the community over the actions of a staff who demonstrate no care for the community as a whole, let alone its individual users? Administration is not a thankless job and it never has been. What IS thankless, however, is being a jerkoff. If people are calling you a jerkoff, it's because you are; don't cry about it, don't claim you're being 'bullied', don't go banning someone for disagreeing you. Seek to address the issue, whether it be with you or with procedure.
Doria, as far as I'm concerned you're part of the problem. You're not willing to see the bigger picture at all so please be quiet with your rash statements that hold no value except pixels on my screen. Until you have something useful to say, put the keyboard aside.
I know I do not play here much, nor do I offer my opinion often. Nor am I part of this immediate community. But I myself have been playing this mod since about early 2009. I played here, on Exodus, Freeport 7 and PTC (currently CHAOS). I ran 3 successful and feared official clans on PTC/CHAOS. LFJ (La Familia Junker), TbL (Thieves by Law), LSOC (Liberty Special Operations Corps). I also Admin 2 game servers. DiscoveringCHAOS Freelancer server and a 7 Days to Die server. I have been in administration for a few years now. Been around a few blocks. Banned my fair share. And I have also done my best to not ban quite a few. Here's a little list of more prominent bans:
Zurnberg (many times I banned this fool.)
Karlotta (A truly rotten person.)
Ronald245 (He had many chances and even redeemed himself to a good degree.)
About 13 people on the forums, including myself (all at once to prove a point and stop a ton of drama. It worked, the drama stopped. And I removed the bans after a day.)
About 300 cheaters from China (I keep a file with their Steam ID's just incase.)
Outside of the cheaters. Everybody else was given chances to adjust to rules.. Given fair warning. And for each ban, the exact reasoning was posted in the ban list, publicly, on the forums. With any needed evidence. Just to show my community that I did so, legitimately. My community wants screenshots and snippets from our logs as proof.. I think that is more than fair.
I have also been a complete jerk a few times. Those who know me, know what I am about, what I have and have not done..
Being an Admin is not easy.. It can be fun and rewarding. It definitely teaches you about yourself. A lot.. Especially when you are called to task to look in the mirror and judge yourself fairly. It is not easy to look at ourselves and admonish our behaviors.. But it is necessary. Now I do not know what happened with these 6 people. I do see the Admin team getting a lot of flack for it though. And I do know one thing.. Without GC, there is no Discovery mod. Again, I may not play here much. But I respect this server and love this mod, for the most part.. Over all it is a great mod.. And it "used" to win Mod of the Year every time, consecutively, for years.
You peeps have a lot to discuss. A lot of deep thinking to do. As a community. And I highly recommend doing this as a community, leave none behind in your decision making..

Couldn't agree more, the entire post is on point. The real question is will they look at this post and many other constructive ones that have been posted in the last 48 hours or they'll just shove it all under the carpet and keep going on as if nothing happened. It has worked for years, but now that the, as you've said, "endgame" is here, I'm not sure anymore.
