The past 72 hours have seen a massive incursion of Gaian forces into Commonwealth territory. Though we now know their base of operations in the Vespucci system, the asteroid field is simply too dense for our warships to navigate. I also fear that the losses would be too high for any strike craft we may field to down it. We already lost the Warspite as it was scouting the field. We can cut their supply lines, bleed them dry, and avoid further loss of life.
However, Lord Commander Locklear has until now been MIA. Thanks to new intel we've received from our own Major Kelly With, we now know that he was captured on Guadalajara during a hunting trip by rogue Legionnaires who threw in with the Gaians.
Interrogation of a few captured Gaian pilots have proven fruitful, and we now know to Locklear is being held on Klaksvik base in the Inverness system. Standing orders are for all vessels to report to Vespucci and rally at America base at 1900 hours in preparation for an extraction of Locklear and subsequent siege of the facility.
Locklear is kidnapped AND there's Gaians brooding in the Independant Worlds?
Pahahah. Hilarious. They made a critical error in coming here. Expect us to deploy some heavier assets from 1st Battlegroup Eirene of Auxesia to support your own in the siege, although I can't expect a lot of the support wing to show up as they're mostly on guard duty on the other end of the Independant Worlds, so we're relying on your forces as you for we.
It's imperative we push these fools out before their infection spreads. Let's see to this issue promptly.
With the successful rescue of Lord Commander Locklear and the destruction of Klaksvik Outpost, the Inverness corridor has seen a significant rise in hostile traffic. Stragglers running for cover after the loss of their home. The Battleship Arktos of Battlegroup Eirene is securing the orbit of Elgin to ensure the corridor is cleared. Recovered losses are being treated on board, and patrols will now frequent the region.
It surprised even myself to see how much vermin occupied such a facility. The Inner Phalanx has future plans to conduct an investigation and salvage operation of the facility remains, but with the threat persisting in the region, it is unlikely civilian craft will be dispatched anytime soon to further investigate. However, the removal of a terrorist hideout raises an interesting opportunity for the Commonwealth of House Liberty to pursue with the Kingdom of Bretonia.
As for Inverness, we've deployed a significant number of craft to secure the region, but we advise Legion forces be cautious due to the presence of Order assets detected in the system several times, and our relationship remains less than friendly.
Should the Legion or Commonwealth require anything further in regards to this operation, Auxesia will be happy to assist where we can. Let's ensure this mediocre band of hypocritical environmentalists does not manifest in to something that may become more than a mere annoyance.
