I'm all for realism - to a point. The idea that you have to repair your ship after an encounter, even after a death-respawn, sounds good to me.
However, I would be careful about the amount of the "damage percentage". It's one thing for the pilot to keep in mind the repercussions of his or her interactions with others. It's another thing to force him or her onto the "trade grind" after every melee just get the ship back into running shape.
No need to turn this server into "Tradelancer". This is a game, and a game by definition is something to be enjoyed. With the exception of a couple of runs with an escort or with another trader, trading is a dull, tedious, time-consuming and sometimes frustrating activity. Necessary - yes. Enjoyable - not much.
