The planets show a little weirdness to me: I can see through some

The only thing I can think is to turn your graphics right up. If that fails.. well try not to mistake transparent planets for open space.

That is quite a hilarious error, sorry I can't be of much help. I suggest that you try reinstalling Freelancer, updating it, and reinstalling discovery and updating your graphics card drivers if you haven't tried any of this already.

And yes, in the meantime pay close attention to where you are going:P

Ok fixed it I had AA on at my ATI Driver

Necroing this thread, I installed freelancer again a couple days ago and had this same problem. After disabling "Adaptive Antialiasing", everything works. So you can still play with AA, just turn off adaptive AA.:smile2:

I have ATI AA all the way up to x16 on my settings along with all the other features and it makes the game look stunning! haven't had any problems yet.
