SUBJECT: Attack on Fulda station and ban of the GMG ships

This is public statement of the Rheinland Government to all individuals and organizations as well as to all law enforcing authorities:

As probably everyone in the known universe heard already, on the 15th October the Fulda Border Station in Frankfurt system was attacked with strong weapon of mass destruction. As a result, the station sustained significant damage and several people aboard were killed and many injured. Additionally, the jumpgate to Sigma-13 system was caught in the blast, and has been rendered unfunctional from our side. Ships heading to Rheinland from the Sigmas region are advised to not try to use the gate from Sigma-13 system because the connection may be unstable and the site of the attack is still heavily irradiated.

The Rheinland government wants to assure everybody, mainly Rheinland citizens but also all visitors of the Rheinland space, that immediatelly after the attack was reported, all lawful forces were placed on the highest alert and all available forces were deployed on patrols in whole Rheinland and especially in systems near to Sigmas region.

Moreover, full investigation was launched with best investigators from all law enforcement forces assigned to the case. Initial findings of the investigation suggest that the attack was not committed by any criminal or terrorist group of the Rheinland origin and the ship which delivered the weapon covertly to the area was using identification of the Gas Miners Guild. We are also aware of the certain broadcast which appeared on the NeuralNet where anonymous person which affiliated himself with the Gas Miners Guild claimed responsibility. However, we want to emphasize that recently there seems to be serious reasons for doubts about who is in fact behind the attack on Fulda. It is in place to avoid any quick conclusions, not to mention impetuous decisions or actions.

Nevertheless, we also understand that some Rheinland citizens may no longer feel safe, and fear but also anger towards the GMG may appear. To prevent any unwanted incidents and also because we take security of Rheinland space as the highest priority at this moment, Rheinland government decided that until the investigation is finished, ALL SHIPS which belong to the GAS MINERS GUILD and their affiliates are hereby BANNED from Rheinland space until further notice.

We advise all GMG captains to take this seriously to prevent any escalation of the situation. Violators may be fined up to 10.000.000 SC fine and will be escorted out of the Rheinland space by the shortest way immediately. Ships which will not comply or enter the Rheinland space repeatedly may be destroyed.

We want to conlude this statement by saying that our thoughts are with the families of members of the Bundespolizei and other victims from Fulda station which died during the heinous terrorist attack. Also, Rheinland government acknowledges all gestures of sympathy and support which were made by several parties in the last sad days, like those made by our friends from the Republic of Kusari or by The Core to name a few. We as well as all Rheinland citizens appreciate it.
