The endless blue pigment rushing by the cockpit of Annabelle's Odin made her dizzy to say the least. The EVA suit and gas mask built in underneath made anything along the lines of zoning out short of impossible as she was forced to take in -what was to her- the boring effects of the system. The occasionally dark pigments brushed over the ship's shielding system, attempting to latch onto it with a screeching sound from the chemicals detonating on impact. The systems were perfect for undercover operations, the natrual gravitational tugs from the cloud shifted the locations of objects unintentionally ever-so-slightly. With lethal gas pockets and the nebula being so vast, it seemed like an ideal place for expansion, maybe the Bundschuh offer was sound after all.
Not to Anna personally of course.
Annabelle was sick of the Sigmas, the system was an invitation for a lucky assassin - not that they would fair a chance while she was behind the controls. The blue pigment was such a change in contrast to the dark orange smog and lava fields her eyes had feasted upon. Still, leadership required travel, even in person. We're approaching 20 clicks General-The AI spoke up, this time to her expectation rather than a surprise. þú vita hvat á iðja.Anna interjected over a private comms channel before the AI could finish. The four tailing Odins broke off in different directions, adjusting their lightning and exhaust ports.Hail them, notify them I'm approaching immediately, they'll detect me late and respond as such if we don't. Anna replied to the AI, the communications channel opened temporarily than closed - the signal was sent. The Odin's sleek and small shape gave it a stealthbomber effect, allowing it to slip in and out of radar. The design had been refurbished slightly for SOA ships, mixed with the visual distortion from the nebula the vessel was almost completely invisible.
Now came the reunion, for the third time; at least this time one of the two actually died. This friendship was a well earned and well respected one, but probably not the healthiest. Neither person was willing to disclose their life to the other, and now Annabelle would have to convince her "little sister" as she saw her; that she had actually been killed. Maybe it would be simple, maybe it wouldn't at this point; putting up with any recoil from Annika regarding Anna's life was was just a lecture that went in one ear and out the other.
Was it time for a change? Was it time for the ice-queen's heart to melt again? Opening that door seemed like opening the way back to death, and Anna never wanted to visualize that void ever again. Being so stubborn kept her focused, and with a son now, attachments aside from that of Annika and the Doctor were unnecessary and unwelcome.
Closing distance, awaiting docking authorization. The ship approached what seemed to be an abandoned gas miner, a creative idea considering the state of the Sigmas, every asset squished into defensive positions near the Rheinland and Kusari entrances pending what they thought would be another open conflict. All the while, it left the rest of the assets untouched. Anna's EVA suit folded shades over the clear portion of the helmet and mask, time to see if this was the real deal - or some prank.
