Hjalmar was one of the finest researchers Hessians had. Having been part of supervising and manufacturing almost all Hessian technology throughout recent history, he's the go-to guy whenever there's a problem in regards to equipment. Since it's such a specific craft unknown to a regular person the rest of Hessians wouldn't go into details too much. They'd give him tools to work with, a deadline and an expected end product. He didn't mind it too much as their ignorance was a waste of time to deal with anyways. Sure, there were his companions who understood everything he does, but only a few could replicate what he does in a much longer time-frame.
The last shipment was no different. It was giant pile of, what looked like, scrap and debris coupled with some sheets with text written on it scrambled all over the place. Hjalmar wasn't a stranger to these things, but he did notice something strange outright - that it's no ordinary equipment. The label stated "valuable loot from deep Omegas". "Go figure", he said as he sighed audibly. He started disassembling the pile and looking at individual parts to see what can be done with it, and just as on his first look he realized this trash is no trash at all, but very valuable data. The transcripts were incomplete and shattered in parts about creating new weaponry from that loot, which didn't make the job easier but gave Hjalmar a challenge.
He and his team worked on it for an entire day, figuring out what it means and how those parts can be incorporated into actual weaponry. Making them ready-to-use wasn't the problem, it was mounting them on the ship and figuring out what their purpose is. The transcripts stated that many weapons could be made from the loot, which was accurate with the observations from the research team. They noted how "flexible" the loot is in terms of being able to make different types of weaponry that completely differ in roles, and even ships that use them.
After a week of careful analysis, Hjalmar came up with a perfect solution. The loot was to be turned into one of the weapons listed in the scripts - a very close range turret capable of dealing tremendous amount of damage to a stationary or large target over time, noticeably more than a Ragnarok. The damage he calculated they would do wasn't that impressive, but the advanced technology they got enabled the turret to consume significantly low amounts of energy, which resulted in a fantastic siege tool. The downside was very low speed and turn speed, but for the purpose they're intended it's more than enough. It was a gun made for the Hessians.
He spread the word and in no time the loot was turned into guns. Eager to try them out, they put them on two Jormungand-class vessels and started doing tests in space. Only time will tell when the weapons will be used in a real battle and how effective they'll be, but the tests looked very positive. Unfortunately all of the physical equipment was used so reproduction is impossible, but if any new similar loot comes in they know one of the weapons to build.

Between the numerous raids Hessians commence something extremely valuable is bound to come out eventually. Such was one recent raid bringing another load of the now-proclaimed Scientific Data came to Hjalmar's laboratory. Already acquainted with the loot, it cheered him up as he got very interested in the topic when the first shipment arrived last year. Between now and last time he spent time further analyzing the scripts and managed to create a table of potential weapons that can come out of the scraps.
Looking at the list and the amount brought from the raids, he sent a message to Brigadegeneral Andreas Löw asking which ones to make. Brigadegeneral soon replied:
"Our Jormungands require more specialized firepower that favors large fights rather than small skirmishes. We're planning big therefore we need appropriate weapons to execute our ambitious plans. Your job is to assemble two Gale Cannons and four Thumper turrets from that... Science Data or whatever you call it. When you're ready, let me know and I'll make sure they're distributed appropriately."
The message was clear and Hjalmar got to work.
Upon finishing the guns Hjalmar tried to assemble whatever was left. He managed to mash the remains into more clear cut Scientific Data, much more than he anticipated. Another message was sent to Brigadegeneral Löw, who expressed satisfaction with the current equipment available for outfitting capital ships but said they need to work on a new class of guns for a ship Hessians themselves don't have - a battlecruiser. Seeing as they would make a deal with the Coalition for one or in worst case scenario sell them to their ally, the request was to make two battlecruiser PPAC turrets.
Hjalmar had no objections and once again got to work.
