Mia told me about that discussion. Fascinating subject, the Gallic invasion. I do hope no one in Sirius is naive enough to think they'll be spared the invader's boot at their throat, but it is so rare for hope and reality to line up.
Needless to say, that information is indeed of considerable interest - to us, and I suspect to our Octavarian host. I'll ensure its distribution is properly limited; while Mia shared more than I would've liked, it's true that I've little love for the Overwatch these days.

In the end of November 824 A.S., almost to a similar point of time, three installations were found by three different entities. One installation was in Gallia, spotted, looted and salvaged by the Marine Royale Gauloise, under the command of Commissaire Général Rosalie Saint-Yves. A second installation was found by myself in the Poole system, in the wine-red cloud at the north-western region of the system, an asteroid facility. The third installation was in the orbit of Baltrum, a small planet in the Sigma-15/Lüneburg system. These three installations were all connected by some smuggler network, which, as we later found out, was called "Defilers". One of their ships, a Bustard-class carrier, was also found by one of my drones in the Omicron Chi system, in the very close proximity of the alien hive installation close to the center of the system. This one was not only a lucky find for me, as I was able to haul it out of Chi, restore and later sell it, but it also contained a key piece to the little riddle we later faced.
In chronological order: We found the ship in Chi, looted it, restored it at a shipyard and sold it after having copied all data from it into the Apahanta's database. Thanks to that, we found the Vented Smuggling Facility of the Defilers in Poole. The databases were containing incredibly interesting data, about the construction of nuclear electromagnetic pulse warheads for the use on snubs; more than two dozens of unique weapon blueprints which have been modernized to work with current teched ships of various sizes; modules for the installation on larger ships and locations of installations and wrecks that promised to contain even more interesting stuff.
Shortly after our discoveries, Saint Yves' men must have found a clue hinting at the installation in Poole, and upon finding it, they found out about me and my people having looted everything from the station, including the database. I guess we didn't manage to fully delete the station's security cache and so they found out about the Apahanta having been there. Saint Yves contacted us and the first negotiations for brokering a deal failed. A little time later, the Core published a broadcast about them having found their installation. It turned out to be the "Vault", and to crack the Vault, three keys were required. One was in the hand of Saint Yves, two of them in mine, and the Core was guarding the station. So, in the end, Core, MRG and me had to reach out for another. I myself brokered a deal with the Core - since I had two key pieces, they needed to comply. The deal between all three participating entities was a fair share of all possible loot from the Vault, and I myself managed to get a non-aggression-pact with the Core, which makes my life a lot easier considering I deserted from them during their first Core-Zoner-Conflict in 823, taking the Apahanta with me as I was the major investor into it. I took what was mine.
The Core apparently sent hyperspace coordinates of Omicron Delta to Saint Yves, so the Marine Royale Gauloise jumped to the Delta, bringing two heavy Battleships, a Battlecruiser and a bunch of snubs there. This was witnessed by the people of Freeport 11 and a few curious travellers. No Order was present, neither any nomad activity. The Core had deployed a similarly powerful battlegroup, both factions having displayed their finest ships to impress each other. I myself was present on a tiny snub which was found in the hangar of the Bustard Carrier we found in Omicron Chi. My believe was that the ship, called "Talisman", was the only ship available to us with the ability to land on the Vault without triggering the intruder alert.
We moved from Delta via Rho to Sigma-15, or Lüneburg as the Rheinlanders call it, and the fleets under command of Supreme Guildkeeper Nathan Archos of the Core and Commissaire Général Rosalie Saint-Yves of the Marine Royale Gauloise took position all around the Vault while I entered it. They handed me their key parts - codes, to be entered in the control room of the station to access it fully - and so I accessed the station, permitting them all to enter it. Saint Yves and Archos sent their teams, I had a few robots with me myself, we combed the station for anything useful, took everything valuable from the database and then ran out of time. Of four possible sealed storage areas, we only managed to open one and take the contents before the station broke apart, no longer resisting Baltrum's gravity well.
Next to the huge amounts of data we got there, we found ourselves in a little weird situation. The pilfered Vault contained two prototype GALE Cannons, very powerful battleship turrets for long range combat. Two turrets, but three parties with battleships. I abstained, and the Core gifted their GALE to Saint Yves. The operation was concluded without further issues. The gallic fleet jumped back to Gallia, touching final moments at Yaren Base in Delta, everyone left on good terms. That being said, it was obvious that Core was looking forward to do more joint operations with Gallia.

This is quite a lot to process. So far we've had no contact with the Core, but the way this encounter played out tells me it's not a one-time deal. There are, or are intended to be closer ties between the Core and the invaders. That's... not ideal. Hopefully distance keeps the two from being of practical use to each other.
