Hey CEO and Captain Arthur (Tut) McGraw trying to make my way around Sirius trading and lately Mining. The mining didn't work out so well as their are so many things you have to get right before you even start mining.
Buy the right ship with right equipment: I started with the Pen ship and it worked well in Pen then I thought I've based most of my other tading ships in Nagano and their's a great field to mine there. So thought buy one of the Annapurna from Aland Shipyard but didn't know I had to have good rep with them before I could land, so went through the whole buy bride spent over 30 mill and total *()_^ it up ended up being in Indian country from Omega 3 back to Nagano and I didn't get the miner. Once I got back I found on the Planet they had a miner so after spending 30 mill trying to get my rep fix for the Annapurna I could have save myself all the grief and millions by just looking around more.
Now I've got a miner full of ore but know where to sell because my rep stinks all the places that give a good price and the only places that are available don't give the return I was expecting. The miner I did buy is a stone cold crapper for transporting so I hoping to leave in different fields an just transfer to a much large ship with a better rep, but that opportunity is not their either as you have to be friends with other Trader or miner to transfer ore too then back to your Trader. Not really going to happen with me I'm a bit of a loner been like that since about 2005 (OoC) did well on number of servers running a small trading company even hit the magic number of 99 on a couple of trading ships.
This is a new challenge and a new server i'd like to do well here their seems to be a lot oldies around like myself looking to remember the good times playing this game. Loved it then and still do now.
So after all that can I restart my Rep back to what it was before the big money spending spire down in Omega 3 , or do I have to start a New character.

That's the mining tutorial, hopefully it's somewhat helpful. In general, you won't be hugely successful financially as an independent solo miner/hauler. The best you can do is a Hegemon with independent miner ID, but I highly recommend you find a discord related to mining and work cooperatively if you want to make a real profit.
Ships with messed up rep are rarely worth keeping if they represent a monetary investment of only a few million, you're better off setting up a new one that's set up in the way you want. Use the /showrestarts command to, well, show possible restarts which will make reputation setup much easier.
