I can't say I'm surprised.

Likewise, I don't think you'd be surprised either when I express my particular distaste for fascists, and people who associate with them. There has been quite a bit of bending as it is, and this might just be the last straw I can safely ignore. To many, Aland, and even Canaria, were bridges too far. I do not want to break the rapport that Bretonia and the Coalition have been developing 'up front', and one of our common enemies is continuing to prove themselves quite troubling, so I am choose to vent my frustrations beneath the table, for now.

I hope your government's dealings with the Core in Omega-3 end sooner rather than never. Your naval arm's admiralty board, I believe, is already quite aware of the opinions of some of my officers. No doubt that information has trickled its way into the hands of Bretonian intelligence.

It is probably best for stability if this matter does not reach a critical point of publicity.

We absolutely agree with your position and fully understand it to boot. We are more than aware that the Core and the SCRA do not have the best of relations with one another and we are also acutely aware of how this recent development certainly complicates matters. We assure you that so long as the Core remain in Omega-3, they will abide by all all Bretonian Laws, and they will not harm your people so long as they abide by our laws.

With that being said, if you are looking for a reason as to why the Core are there, it is because the situation is, as you correctly pointed out, volatile. It is made increasingly complex by the fact that the RHA have already betrayed us and that your own field marshal, the illustrious Mister Keller, has openly condemned Bretonia and has retracted his signature from the Sydney accords. With these events, we feel that support is needed, and the Core are willing to provide it.

But once more, allow me to stress, no harm will come to any Coalition civilians within Bretonia (including Gibraltar/Omega-3) so long as they obey our laws.

This news I will be considering, alongside all the other matters I'm constantly barraged with on a daily basis.

Getting back to the main topic, there's a few points to consider.

"Not the best of relations" may be an understatement. There are conflicting ideological aims, ambitions at play and enough crossing power moves that guns and swords will most assuredly prevail in the event anyone with the Peoples' Flag, and theirs, cross paths. It's no blood feud, a theater that does not see extensive fighting beyond skirmish aggression, but the resource temptation present is simply too great. Laws are only as effective as their enforcers, and as the Core love to style themselves as the infatuated enforcers of the Omicrons, I have my doubts they will simply respect the law of even a House without trying to attach strings. I do not doubt Bretonia's efficacy, but I do doubt the Core's efficacy in keeping their guns cool in such a situation.

Situational volatility, likely another understatement. I really feel like I am on a loop here, but I will press on. Aland, definitely more so than Canaria, was a very leaden pill to swallow. Again, it seems the utopian scenario in which the Accord had been drafted for has degenerated into nothing short of an unfortunate series of events. Perceptions of uncondoned acts became such acts in and of themselves, and heads are raising over it. People thinking that by hedging their own bets, they will be able to shift the tables to favor their personal interests. We are all still in an unpleasant position.

We have our agreements in treaty, and the civilian component intends to adhere to these agreements so long as they remain tenable. Yet it will be military (or police action in auxiliary to military force) that determines how tenable things will remain. The new transponder codes are taking their sweet time in being implemented.
