We've picked up Simone during the event of the March 5th, 826 A.S. in Omicron Minor. See this for reference. I entered the CV-Titanic in order to investigate the distress call. Dinah had randomly texted me and I found out about her and Maren being on the ship for whatever reason. At this point the investigation turned into a rescue mission with the highest priority to extract Maren and Dinah from the damaged vessel. I found them by tracing Dinah's PDA signal. Simone was with them, not saying a single word. The situation could have developed badly for us at any moment, so I didn't hesitate and told them to put on the EVA suits my robots carried with us, then we returned to the hangar, entered my Rover and returned to the Apahanta.

Dr. Carr did medical scans on the three women. Simone remained mute for the entire time. She did everything people told her to, within the limits of her understanding what they wanted her to do. Gesticulation and simple language were proving more successful to her understanding. We had no name for her back then, so Dinah gave her the name Simone and told us that they found out that both Dinah and Simone were clones, or more precisely, artificially created humans - as calling them clones would imply they were cloned with the traits of someone else. To the best of our knowledge, that is not the case.

Talking to Simone always proved rather difficult and mostly unsuccessful. She seems to have a limited understanding of the english language or the concept of language in general. Dinah once told me the first time she met Simone, Simone was trying to communicate via drawings. I tried to communicate with her in the same way and took a tablet to draw on. I tried to find out her name.

Then I tried to make her understand what the letters meant. Pointed at me, said my name, then pointed at the letters, again saying my name. Then the same with Dinah. Then I handed the tablet to her and gave her the pen. She merely added a question mark above her head.

At least she seemed to know what a question mark is used for. It was that point of time where Dinah decided to name her Simone.

Since that day, Simone remained on my ship. I gave her a room in the crew quarters. Attempts to get any information out of her have mostly failed. Dinah was the closest contact she had back then, as the little girl saw a sister in Simone. They played together.

Simone, even now, remains mostly passive and avoids social interaction when she can, remaining most of the time in her room. She partakes at breaktfast, lunch and dinner, sitting at the tables with the crew - we didn't really give her the chance to sit alone - and Maren and I realized the way she eyed Noel. With him being our youngest crew member and both Simone and Noel being physically on the same level, biologically early-post-pubertarian, we assumed her instincts were more or less obviously making her interested in the other gender.

I told Noel to bring some clothes for Simone to her room, and made sure he had a condom with him. My assumption was correct and a few hours later, Noel returned to me, telling me they mated. He was slightly mad at me for having orchestrated it that way, but at this point, as they are in somewhat of a relationship now, he seems fine with it having happened like this. Noel found out she is able to speak but simply avoids to do it. He also promised her to not tell anyone. He didn't break the promise, but I broke their privacy by accessing the security sensors of Simone's room to see how the interaction went.

As I had expected, Simone was mostly instinct-driven in this interaction and also the dominant part in the act. Noel said she was a virgin to that point, meaning she didn't have any previous knowledge or experience. Because of that interaction and Noel suddenly being a close contact to her, Simone decided to stay on the Apahanta instead of leaving together with Maren and Dinah to live on Baden Baden.

She is still in a relationship with Noel and he frequently visits her in her room, sleeping there every second or third night in her bed with her. From what I could see from the security footage, she still refuses to talk when he doesn't make it necessary, so it is mostly him talking while she draws on her PDA. At this point, she is still only a guest on the Apahanta, as she doesn't seem to be interested in performing in any kind of work on the ship. Not that she seems to have any useful skills we could make use of here. Since our Kishiro Service Robots do most of the work, it also isn't like we are lacking manpower, so it is fine.

We've talked with the apparently not-dead Dr. Martinez, who created Simone. The conversation was short and her answers annoyingly vague, but according to her, Simone was never meant to be more than a test bed for the nanites in her body. More information on that topic can be taken from the medical report and the engineering report. Dr. Martinez also refered to her as Contessa. We sticked to Simone, though. She seems to like the name. Dr. Martinez said she didn't mind Simone being with us, and said she was rather grateful for it. Sadly, I can't help but feel there is much more about Simone, and I can't help but feel that keeping her on my ship is a mistake.

Assuming the worst, I told Maren I believe that Dr. Martinez doesn't do anything without a large train of thoughts about any possible outcome. Martinez said she was interested in eliminating the non-physical Nomad Entity as a whole, and given she herself is a psionic, according to her answer to my question whether she was, I believed Simone and Dinah were artificially engineered to be or become psionics. Maren said she could find out by letting Valery access their minds. Psionics would try to resist instantly. So we did that, and Maren said Simone wasn't a psionic. We don't know whether she could become one at some point, though.

That would be problematic.

! Medical Report

I've done all kinds of non-invasive tests with Simone. Before I continue, I'd like to point out that she is a human being and has the same rights as a human being as any other person on this ship. Because of this, I will treat her as a human being and not like a test subject or object. Any tests beyond what we consider our standard - and with that I mean non-invasive and non-risky - will require both my agreement as well as hers, with all respect to the command chain.

Biologically, Simone has reached the evolutionary peak of her body's development, physically being at the age of early-mid twenties. Her appearance is flawless, in a pure biologically sense. Her skin is soft and there are no scars anywhere. Her pores are all of optimal size and perfectly clean. Her hair structure is perfectly fine. Bones and muscles are in perfect condition, organs are working at best possible rates. She is the most blatantly obvious artificially created human I've ever seen, not that I have seen many.

Normally, any flaws would be the result of damaged or dead cells. Her body doesn't contain any damaged or dead cells. With other words, she is not aging, as aging is merely the result of damaged or dead stem cells. Scans of the cellular level have revealed the reason for the lack of any malfunctioning cell: Nanites.

These nano-sized machines are filling her entire body. They are moving fast, resorb damaged materials and replace them with fully intact cells. This happens all the time, in the most literal sense, as Simone's metabolism works, mostly, 64x (sixtyfour, I shit you not) times faster than that of a normal human. That means, without the nanites replacing damaged cells, Simone would age to death within a very short time, between days and hours. Her cells would die away so fast, there wouldn't be anything we can do about it.

This also means she matured in a very short time. According to what we know, Simone was created two years ago, somewhen in 826. This would explain why her mental development seems way behind compared with her biological development. She doesn't seem to be dumb, but she appears to be underinformed. Given her body is 64 times faster than the average human body, I believe she is about as many times faster in learning processes. Her brain is as developed as it could be for a woman of her age. Just not fed with information. This is just an assumption deduced from what makes sense based on biological knowledge, though, and would require testing.

I've sent all data we have on the nanites to engineering.

Dr. Carr sent me the scans. Let me remind you I'm not an expert on the topic of nanites. The only nanites I frequently work with are our NanoRep Drones for the Apahanta.

From what I can tell, these nanites are nothing alike to what we know. They are either alien or so far ahead of our current technology level that I'd call it something from the future. In other words, and to answer the question you'd probably ask first: No, we can't replicate them. I can literally only tell what they do from observation.

So what do they do? They remove harmful elements in Simone's body. Damaged cells, dead cells, viruses, harmful bacteria. Imagine her white blood cells armed with Dual Gatling Lasers. These things are fast, efficient and self-replicating. They appear to be fully aware of the amount of all nanites in Simone's body and never exceed a specific required amount. More importantly, they seem to be self-sustaining, which is probably the most notable difference from those guys compared with our nanobots. Ours last a few hours. The ones Dr. Carr injected into your body to repair the damage at your heart only lasted three hours, then aimed for your rectum and left your body. These here remain in Simone until they are damaged, which causes other nanites to repair or resorb and replace them.

That's pretty much all I can tell from just looking at the scans, Ez. If you'd allow me to extract a few nanites from her body, I could take a closer look at them.

By the way, while I can't prove it, I'd assume these nanites are also the reason why Simone doesn't breath 64 times faster or eats 64 times more than anyone else. Her metabolism is 64 times faster, meaning it would require 64 times more intake or processable materials to fuel the body. It would also mean her body creates 64 times more heat than a human body, meaning she'd sweat 64 times more, meaning she'd need to take in 64 times more liquid. You get the idea. These nanites regulate her entire body, and I can't tell how. Yet. I'd assume it has less to do with what a single nanite does but what they do as a swarm.

! Protected File: Noel and Sombra about Simone

A recording of the triangulating security sensors of Ezrael's room on the Apahanta. It showed Sombra and Noel in the big bed. Ezrael was not present. Sombra was hugging Noel from the side, while the boy looked idly at the ceiling. A blanket was covering them. She was wearing a black nighty, he wore a white T-shirt and shorts.

"Why so stiff?" she asked him, her head at his shoulder.

"I'm not stiff," he returned, starting to blush about her question. She then moved her upper leg over his and placed her knee on his crotch, the blanket hiding the action. "Don't do that."

"Why?" she asked quietly, moving the knee a bit. "Ez is with Maren, so it's just you and me. And you're not with Simone."

He grabbed her knee, lifting it slightly and holding it in place so she couldn't tease him anymore. "I'm in a relationship with her."

She smirked at him. "Surely a rich relationship. The shy boy and the passive mute girl. What are you doing all the time together, existing?"

"Yes?" he said, giving frowning at her. "I mean, eh..."

"No, seriously. Tell me what you two are doing that you reject me every single time. I'm curious."

"Uh," he began, not sure what to say. "Well, we talk. Or, uh, I talk. I tell her what I do all day. About the energy core or the projects we work on in the workshop. Sometimes we draw together. Most of the time it's just, well, sex. And then sleeping. Or well, she sleeps. I have troubles sleeping next to her. Which is why I'm here." He looked down at the blanket, still holding her thigh up.

"She's boring. Even the Nancy robot in Leon's room has more personality than her," she said and let go of him, rolling on her back to look up as well. "You know, it's annoying to get rejected. Ez is with Maren on Baden Baden right now, and then that boring girl appears out of nowhere and suddenly you're all over her despite me having teased you for so long."

Noel looked at her. It was weird to have her say these things to him. "You really have strange habits."

"Why am I the strange person here now?" she asked him, slightly triggered. "You're usually hugging a man to be able to sleep. And now you're in a relationship with a girl that doesn't talk and doesn't do anything, and say it's better than being with me."

"Well, you're slutty. You say you're all over Ezrael, and when he's not around, you're trying to seduce me. Like, what the fuck. And you know I'm in a relationship with someone else, and you act like your body is the one thing that makes you better than her, less boring than her." He turned away from her. "It's flattering, but I'm not a curacaoan. I don't know why you and Ezrael are like that, with the entire sexual stuff. It's funny, tempting and all that, but especially you are pretenting as if that is all that counts. As if there was nothing else. Maybe that makes you more boring than a mute and passive girl, ever thought about that? Or how about I feel when you're constantly trying to make me live like Ez does, entirely unable to stick to one woman?"

She remained quiet, her eyes empty as she stared at the ceiling.

"I like you, you know Under other circumstances I'd love to do all the things with you you do with Ezrael. Hell, I'm hella jealous when you wake him up in the morning the way you do. Simone has no idea about all these things. But I'm with her, and I don't want to hurt her. I'm happy with her."

"And that's why you sleep here instead of next to her?" she asked quietly.

He remained quiet, his eyes closed. After a while, she scooted closer and hugged him from behind. She closed her eyes and they slept.
