Hi, everyone,

Not sure if i have to post it here.

I have a problem with Freelancer freezing for 1-3 seconds (the whole display freeze) then it backs to normal. It does that every one minute for 1 to 3times. Tried different things from setting nvidia for Freelancer on max performance, turned compability mode for freelancer.exe and discovery launcher for the old xp service pack 2, did put CPU on 98 percent as i heard when it suddenly hits 100 percent the nvidia is bugging somehow and cause freezing. All other games are running normal. Its only freelancer.

Did anyone have this problem?

Laptop specs are:

I7-7700hq
16gb ram
Gtx 1070
win 10 home 64bit

Not sure if it'll help but I had a similar issue yesterday so I took out my graphics card, cleaned it nicely and reseated it again and the issue seems to be resolved.

Hi,

@Evans, i have checked the thread with dll file, not sure it is really that. The screen freezes for a few seconds, its not constant freeze (as it is in the bug report video). Noticed that it freezes also when new objects appear on scanner or when i just trying to open nav map or inventory icon. No idea what might be, maybe its just win 10 issue.

I myself do get a small stutter when ships appear, to me that’s how it’s always been but a 1-3 second pause/stutter you get, can be a lot of reasons

Could be

Your ping/location/distance to the server
What’s running in the background eg processes?
This new issue that I have now fixed with renaming the gameux.dll

It’s just trial and error to be honest

I suggest do a full virus/malware scan to start off with

Hi @evanz

Just did virus scan with Malwarebytes, nothing found. There is nothing running in the background that would make Freelancer freeze, checked the ram memory and CPU uses about 1-3 percent running the game.

Will try this later:

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments...me_win_10/ (second comment with Windows defender exception).

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/game-stut...-fps-drops

Check them, it might help you to get rid of the stutter too.
