An unexpected treat
With the increasing capabilities of Damascus Research Station the Order found themselves able to host several research teams of their allies on the station.
One such ally to fall under the first to be invited to participate were the Blood Dragons. The longstanding alliance between the two factions, as well as
their relative proximity to the Order home system made them a natural candidate.
The Blood Dragons for their part were eager to accept, looking forward to the prospect of additional research and development alongside the Order.
One clan in particular reached out and informed them that an associate of theirs had managed to procure what appeared to be a valuable artifact
and was currently in hiding on the Freeport in the Omega-3 system. Trusting the judgement of their allies, the Order set out to retrieve the operative
and the artifact before they were discovered by any Bretonian forces in the area.
Of all the ships in the fleet, the Armageddon was chosen. While bulky and not exactly 'low key' the hope was that, at first glance, people would assume
it was a Bretonian Carrier patroling the area. Allowing the vessel to complete its mission without standing out too much despite its class.
After initial flight checks were made the Armageddon set out to retrieve the Blood Dragon associate, utilizing its Jump Drive technology.
Raiding the cookie jar
In a bright flash of light in a distant corner of the Omega-3 system, the Armageddon appeared almost instantly.
Her crew immediately started preparing the Jump Drive system for the return trip to Omicron Mu;
Jump Drive technology was infamously sensitive to proper input, even the slightest error could have disastrous consequences.
Once they were properly satisfied the appropriate measures had been taken the Armageddon set course for the Freeport.
En route several vessels hailed the Armageddon, greeting the officers and asking if there was any trouble in the area.
Nathan Carlisle, an Order agent hailing from Bretonia, handled all the comms. Invoking his thickest accent to avoid arousing any
suspicion.
When the Armageddon started to set course for Aland Shipyard, the only station between it and the Freeport, the call was made to activate
the cloaking device. The odds of the stations scanners being able to recognize the Armageddon as the very carrier that was stolen from its
drydocks during an assault on the station was simply too large to take. And thus, under the veil of the cloak, the Armageddon carefully navigated
past the station and moved towards the Freeport.
Once the Armageddon arrived a secure transmission was sent, a bit of an unrecognizable and nonsensical code that identified their presence to the Blood Dragon
associate inside the station. A few moments later a small vessel departed from the station, a quick scan revealed it bore no lifesigns onboard but definitely had
the artifact onboard they had come for. It seemed the associate was required to stay for now and was controlling the ship remotely.
Not ones to waste time, the Armageddon led the ship away far from view of the Freeport before it dropped its cloak and allowed it to dock.
With the payload secured without incurring any conflict, the Armageddon swiftly activated its Jump Drive and left the system.
Several days later
Admiral Xander glanced over the datapad detailing the report of the operation
The operation had gone well enough and he was truely glad for that, however he had some...reservations regarding the name choice. "Raiding the cookie jar..."
With a sigh he shook his head and resolved to not let Doctor Schultz name projects again in the near future.
