I used to play on the discovery RP 24/7 server a while ago. But then i...well i pretty much lost my computer for a while (Reasons too long to explain).
But i have my computer back now, and re-installed freelancer, got the workaround mod working and got the discovery 4.84 mod set up again.
But when i searched for the discovery server, it says the version is 48. 154, so therefor i can not enter it any more.
I've looked for this version, just incase. but i can;t find any mention of it any where.
Please someone help. I miss playing freelancer online.
De-activate 4.84 (recommend pressing ctrl+r to restore back-ups). Activate it in FLMM, go to where FL is installed (something like... C:Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer). Open up the folder named EXE. Find DSUpdate.exe and open it. It will download the latest update (so it will be 48.154) and then it will open Freelancer once it's done.
If there are any problems, I recommend doing a full re-install of Freelancer, then trying again.
' Wrote:Also, direct your shortcut ad the DSUpdate rather than the Freelancer executable, remembering not to lose the server IP.
Something like this:
"H:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\DSUpdate.exe" -s82.113.48.5:2302
Although I'm not sure if the server ip is still necessary.
I don't believe you have to now, if you open FL via DSUpdate.exe, it should have the Disco RP 24/7 server and the Disco USA RP 24/7 server automatically in the server list.
[10:10:28 AM] Josh (Dejavu): Bauer is legendary to the LPI, I joined because I wanted to be that epic.
If you look at the other DSUpdate files, you'll find one that handles FLArgs.
That line passes commands like -s82.113.48.5:2302 on to the actual game client.
48.154, is essentially: Discovery 4.85, Beta 4, Update 1
(though I cant imagine why its not 4.8541 or 48.541)
edit: And yes, running a fresh install is usually a better idea when coming off of 4.84.
