Neat, but I want to see more of the PvP fighter battles. Did you notice that they didn't show any duels or if you can e-kill? Seriously, it's gonna be another Eve if we can't have more than one way to skin a ship.
Also, what's with this whole grimdark thing going around? Is having more than two colors in a game really gone the way of creative world-building and design?
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
It does look quite starlancer on second viewing, not saying thats a bad thing, just not really what i like. I think the graphics are amasing though, i thought i was looking at far cry 2 for a minuite.
The graphics would look amazing if I could somehow tell if an enemy ship was approaching me, or just another rock that has the same two colors as that ship.
Seriously people, the color wheel is your friend.

They probably want a more gritty atmosphere.
Freelancer is like a strange playground.
Not only do the systems not make any sense whatesoever but a host of other things make it more of a game than a universe.
Discovery goes some ways to addressing this but I think that a major thing for FL is the scaling. Fix that and the atmosphere can increase hugely.
Hell, Freelancer is the only space sim to really have terrible scaling like this (That sold globally and relatively well)
<strike>Anyway, I really am looking forward to this.
That appears to be a player ship, the large ass one, Snowcrash.</strike>
Plus the ship is piloted by you, like in Freelancer. Though I would alikin it more to the X series (X3 etc) since it has proper rolling etc and aiming is based on where your ship is pointed at etc.
That means that combat is also based on that style, since there would be no point in having automated fights and manual flying. If you have one, having the other is a bonus that is a logical choice.
EDIT: Er, maybe not.
Apparantly it will be very instanced.
It will of course be P2P.
You have your ship and you modify it, no new ships are sold.
No commodity based things it seems.
All in all, it appears to be going for a 'SPACEKILLGAME' style thing, with not much else going on.
So er yes, no longer looking forward to this.
Wait, does anyone know if this is is going to support joystick? Lord, I hope so. *crosses fingers*
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
