Synopsis
With the partial surrender of the Battlegroup Gladius to the Crayter Republic in 830 A.C., its penal system found itself swelled with potentially skilled, and highly trained pilots. The Crayter Intelligence Service led an underground evaluation of these new prisoners through observation, captured ship crew records, and interrogation of ship captains to find the best from the chaff. Criteria is set high as few are selected for this longer lease on life. Majority of the Insurgency prisoners will meet due justice as per Crayter law, or sent back to the Republic of Liberty for execution. The original 1,000 inmates were made of solely Insurgent background individuals when the regiment was originally founded in early 831 A.C. Recruitment later on opened up to a wider spectrum of evaluation. The reason for the creation of the regiment is highly speculated amongst its members with only the CIS holding the truth. A potential weapon to be wielded against Liberty should the house turn from being cordial allies of the Crayter Republic.
Lore
Recruitment
When a significant number of inmates meet CIS requirements they are scheduled for transfer from one prison to another on planet Yuma. A CIS agent will take control of the celestra transport once every prospect is secured. An offer is made to fight for the better of the Crayter Republic, promising Crayter citizenship and land to farm at the end of the term of 10 years. Any decline of this “lease on life” is met with summary execution to prevent leaks of the regiment's existence. All new “falcons'' are moved to Sulawesi Citadel for further evaluation, training, and assortment.
Motto: “From The Ashes I Stand”
This motto reminds each falcon they fight for the Crayter Republic, who graciously granted them this second life. That their past is as good as dead, and should be forgotten. All insubordination can be met with summary execution, as the falcon chose to close the agreement to fight for the Crayter Republic. As they fall a new falcon will rise to take their place, ever moving forward. As Those They Left Behind.
Training
All boot training begins at Sulawesi Citadel when transferred from Yuma. With a regiment of basic ground, space flight, and aiding in rebuilding of the damaged Citadel. Exceeding results may be rewarded with possible boons at the commanding CIS agent’s discretion. The opposite is also true, to “encourage” expected performance. Currently, the 10th division has the sole purpose of forging new recruits into falcons to be put to use for the good of Crayter. This division is headed by many CIS agents to oversee the training.
Each newly founded division goes through 8 months of brutal training, and the highest casualties are within the first 6 weeks of training. Majorily due to upstarts' pride breaking against the new reality they agreed to live. New recruits fill these casualties, expected to do more than fill the boots of the previous failure.
Divisions
The regiment of 1,000 is divided into 10 divisions. Each contains 99 falcons and 1 CIS agent acting as the captain. When deployed, a division is put under a base's command, though the CIS agent retains complete authority of the division in the field. Oftentimes each division is deployed independently, though with exceptions.
During the “Maltese Slave Rebellion”, three divisions were deployed and aided in breaking the planetary defenses of planet Malta. Sending critical support to the rebels at the time. Allowing them to find footing against the Outcast cartels. The rebellion was soon crushed after the supplies were drained without replenishment.
Vessels/Equipment
All falcons are trained to use Crayter vessels and equipment, though seized ships have been known to “disappear” from impoundment and repurposed to be used for familiarity. However such occurrences are rare and only done when divisions prove worthy of such extreme niceties. All equipment have a tracking transponder in case of desertion, so that they may face quick and swift justice.
Identification
Each falcon has an individual chain code identification number. Issued upon arriving at Sulawesi Citadel.
Original 1,000 insurgents: 1-***
Other inmates: 2-***(and up)
