Hi. It's been a bit.

I used to be a mercenary working for you and GC. Though that kind of... undersells the relationship a bit. I was not born in Kusari, but my late father was. I came looking for my roots and found a hell of corruption and misogyny. I made friends among the Chrysanthemums and fought alongside them, accepting pay only to keep my ships repaired and belly full. It's through them I met your Daimyos of the time, and I did special intelligence work for both your people and the Sisterhood, gathering intelligence on the Samura-backed regime, political events around Sirius, and even once catching Kogen himself. I was arrested for my work on your behalf, and helped lead a jailbreak that saw the freedom of many Dragons and Sisters of Matsuda, and you helped me repair and refit the prison ship that held us in Mito Shipyards. It still serves as my home to this day. In return, I dragged a prototype Bretonian battleship core across the Taus to you. We had a close relationship.

Everything changes with time, though. A coup happened within the Chrysanthemums. A false Empress arose and murdered my friends, overthrew the movement, and even had the audacity to try to convince me to switch my loyalty to her. My crew and I simply... couldn't, anymore. We had hope for the Kishiro regime - that turned out to be pretty naive, in retrospect - but we couldn't bear to stay as our surviving Sisters pledged loyalty to this liar. We left, and have been living in the Barrier ever since.

I say all of this by way of introduction because I know your business is a bloody one, and the people I once cared for may no longer be in power. Still, I want to talk again, and to see how things are going. I'm in Liberty now; their awful little empire took my mother and stuck her in a camp when they took Erie, so I have to pursue the other half of my heritage now for the parent that is still alive. I don't think I'll have the luxury of fighting the regime in Kusari any time soon, but I'd like to at least give what covert support I can afford to.

Besides, I've got a problem. As part of my work with you, I was provided with a Tanto to more safely find the knowledge hidden in the bowels of Naval ships and a Nodachi to crack them open and pull out their insides. But... that was a long, long time ago, and they're both in awful disrepair. A few of my crew have experience working on these older models, but we desperately need parts. We're more than happy to give resources in exchange, of course - like I said, I really want to support you in what ways I can, especially since the Sisterhood doesn't seem to've ever really recovered from the pretender's coup.

It is good to see such a potent external agent contact us, your timing could not have been more impeccable, it comes indeed as divine providence. You see, the Dragons will be soon enough involved in a major conflict and we need convert warriors in Liberty, but enough of that for now.

I will have you know we do not meddle in the business of the Sisterhood, there is nothing to comment on that matter, but you are clear to bring your ships to Kyoto for refitting, we can discuss more warrior to warrior.

I am truly grateful to be given the opportunity to see Kyoto again. It's been so long. I'll make arrangements and head up there shortly. I should have some extra space in my cargo hold - is there anything you need right now that I can bring as a goodwill gesture?

I have one more request, if that's okay. My friend Yu-... erm, Hideyoshi Yukiko, a relative of the former Shogun, expressed an interest in coming with me. She fled the Hideyoshi family when it betrayed the movement in favor of some kind of "Red Empress" cult, and we recently found and rescued her near my current movement's home in the Independent Worlds, chased by some stuff I can't talk about for security reasons. Is that okay, for her to come with me?

I apologize for my late reply but your friend's claim stirred quite the discussion on our end. I had performed research to the best of my ability but most archives on the true family have long vanished.
I have brought the matter before the Headmaster who assured me the Hideyoshi shogunal line ended long ago. If your friend does indeed claim lineage I'm afraid it will not amount to anything but, they would be more then welcome to join you.
