Last time it was brought up for different ores with overlapping fields (Alien Organisms in Tau-29, Uncharted 10 field, etc.) economy developers said this - the visual indicator is clear enough to know what kind of ore you're shooting. In the case of Ontario, it's:
1. Military Salvage - Large scrap pieces with a leading tray of smoke.
2. Regular Scrap - Tiny scrap pieces with no leading tray.
I've mined out here at times but gave up much for the same reason as Vulkhard. The overlapping Military Salvage and Scrap makes mining here tedious at best, annoying at worst. While there is a clearly defined difference between the two, it doesn't really change the fact that mining here is extremely trying.
It's made worse with the changes to how much Salvage Freighters can hold now in comparison to Scrap (which I still think is a great change). You might get between 5-12 Salvage per shot if you're lucky which doesn't take up much space but shooting one errant piece of normal Scrap can fill up your Freighter a quarter of the way in one shot. It can get quite irritating. Perhaps lower the amount of scrap floating around in the Military Salvage field to the ratio of Salvage?
Not trying to make this a discussion thread or anything, just stating a point in relation to your response.
You fear oblivion. Yet you forget. The universe remembers every atom of your being. Even dust hums your name in the dark.
We don't want people to make a habit of trying to change game mechanics by reporting them as bug. In future, please make discussion threads on that matter.
