Need info about BMM in O49

Well, I was mining in O49 with my mining char (IMG) when I noticed a BMM miner in there. I told him to quit, he refused, while I was going to Gran Canaria, he CDed me and started shooting. I got away, having forgot to buy Bots and bats since my last encounter with a trigger happy corsair, he was winning.

So I got two questions:
1 Do BMM have the right to go in O49 and if yes, can IMG tell them to return in Dublin.
2 Was it correct for him to shoot me (we both have mining ships).

1. I dont think you can tell him to do anything in o49, only zoners can.

2.it might have been correct had you been fighting over a mining spot, but for him to CD you and attack in a mining ship, that sounds a little odd.

Also, i think the zoners want to keep the dublin jh a secret from almost everyone apart from the corsairs, so i think it would be a bit OORP for the IMG and BMM to be there.

1. Considering BMM has significant operations nearby, it seems less illogical for them to attempt to expand operations there than the fact there is no Bretonian presence there, all things considered. (But that's a rant for another day.)

The IMG can certainly *tell* them to leave, but that doesn't mean they necessarily will. The Zoners are really the only ones with signficant warships in the area to exactually enforce anything of the sort.

2. It depends on how you define correct in this situation. BMM and IMG don't like each other and, being that it's outside of House space, there's certainly some logic in them trying to remove their competition. Might not have been correct in the sense of their particular political goals and such though.

Can we please get away from this fallacy that Omega 49 is some "deep dark secret". I think we can put that dead parrot in a box now.. Good Lordess, just sit there and watch the traffic some time. You name it.. we've seen it.

If IMG and BMM want to go at each others' throats over some damn rocks, I have a feeling that it'll be during "Siesta time" on Gran Canaria. We Zoners need our "beauty sleep".
