Giuseppe Valentino began life as the son of a wealthy merchant on Manhattan. As a teenager, he was shipped to a Bretonian boarding school where he graduated and was accepted into a prestigious university. He studied business and economics for a few years before the wanderlust set in and he tried his hand as a pilot.
Initially he flew merchant ships but was drafted into military service when the Nomad threat surfaced. As a troop transport pilot he flew many men and women to their deaths at the hands of the Nomad forces. This made him realize that war was not something to be engaged in unless a society was faced with utter annihilation. After his stint in the BAF and the Nomads were defeated, Val retired to a small village where he purchased a vineyard sought to retire.
Soon after purchasing the vineyard, he married a daughter of a wealthy rival. Rachel was the love of his life. Unfortunately he lost her when she gave birth to their daughter, Julia. Julia was a headstrong girl who resented the restrictions that Val put on his daughter and his "turn-the-other-cheek" attitude. Julia was very politically minded from a young age and with her appetite for adventure she left Val at the age of 17.
Several months later, Valentino received a curious message to meet an unknown man in a bar on Aomori Station. Upon arrival Val was presented with a vid of his daughter as she participated in a Golden C. bombing of a Samura transport. The strange man told Val that he knew where Julia was and that he would capture her and collect the bounty unless Val could come up a substantial bribe.
Valentino has two choices, raise the money to pay off the Bounty Hunter and hope that he lives by his word or find his daughter himself.
