Battleship License should read 12k away but only reads 10k

It says the Battleship License should read 12k away but only reads 10k. Why is that? Is it possible to make it read 12k like its suppose to?

The man raises a good point. Sorry to bump an old topic, but I've always wondered this. I've never noticed a significant change in the actual detection range in any of the scanners.

Yeah, the BS lisence scanner thing really doesnt work right, I was in the middle of delta and a guy was exactly 4k away and i could not scan him, The range is more or less 3.6k

This happeng with all scanners, you can't scan immediatly when the guy enter range. Its like two or three seconds after.
