Unity through greed

<div align="right]
Name: Rhodri Jones Age: 49 Rank: Captain Ethnicity: Junker/Molly Bio: Rhodri has been a Junker as long as he has drawn breath, but he was raised by a Molly family on the Junker station Trafalgar. He is a somewhat level headed individual and will not back down from a fight on level ground, nor will he give in to demands against him or his comrades.
He has been accused by the resident Junkers of being a Navy Officer since he runs a ship and his business like a military man. However, he rarely co-operates with authority very well him and his father Huw Jones were never good on agreeing with each other. But they always bought each other a Junker Sidewinder in the bar after a days worth of mining.
When it comes to the Molly side of his upbringing, he treats Molly pilots like brothers in the loosest sense of the word. He will never fight against them in open combat, but that doesnt mean he agrees with everything they do. But, he believes in their cause, and has been rumoured to smuggle things in the name of the Molly cause.
When it comes to his Junker side, he runs the line of a smuggler and eyes and ears. He tells his fellow Junkers of any hostiles that have annoyed him, or his allies. And by allies, he means Junkers. You never mess with one Junker; you mess with the whole lot of them.
Rhodri came into possession of the Spirit of Boudicca from his father, who had recently earned enough money to settle a quiet life on Cambridge, that is, once you bribed the right people. Rhodri now follows his fathers line of work and mines the Dublin system for Gold and occasionally the debris field around Trafalgar looking for some hints of good loot.

Name: Stuart McKay Age: 53 Rank: Security Officer Ethnicity: Molly Bio: McKay is a natural Molly. Headstrong, burning hatred for BMM and a crack shot with a Lancaster Gauss Pistol. His childhood was that of fighting and running from Bounty Hunters; this lead him to be an isolated, yet boisterous person, that is until his parents moved to Trafalgar base.
He may be a Molly, but the Junkers tolerated his ways, and enjoyed a good sideshow in the bars on a Friday night after the smuggled Gaian wild coyote fights in the cargo bays. But one day he picked a fight with Rhodri Jones, who was only just an adult at the time. Rhodri is not be the best fighter, and lost almost every weekly fight these two had with each other, but Rhodri and McKay would always laugh it off and buy each other a drink. Rhodri was one of the few people who actually talked with him, and eventually grew to respect him as a friend. Since then, they always got together and ranted about things around them, and still brawled with each other; earning the nickname The Married Fighters.
McKays profession for most of his life was on Trafalgar as a security guard, keeping an eye out for thieves and lining his pockets with Molly gold as they smashed captured police undercover agents to a pulp. While not always favoured by the Junkers who were wary of brining the law on top of them, but they didnt exactly say no to McKays side job. He was good at his job though, he could sense a thief, and if caught hed break their fingers; a rather appropriate rule to take against thieves. This made people put their hands in their pockets whenever McKay walked the same corridor as them.
Growing tired of the guard duties on Trafalgar, he learned that his friend Rhodri inherited a Mining Ship, and was approached by him to become the Spirit of Boudiccas head of security.

Name: Clive Hughes Age: 58 Rank: Chief Engineer Ethnicity: Junker/Molly Bio: Clive is a natural hard worker, and a natural with a trusty wrench and plasma welder.
His father is a Junker, and his mother a Molly, and both taught him the ins and outs of their ways of life. Taking these into account, he became a jolly alcoholic. Despite this shortcoming, he is good at what he does, and that is fix things mechanical and electronic. If someone built it, he can fix it.
In his early years he had to spend a lot of time cooped up on a smuggler ship as an assistance engineer. Those smugglers may not have the most reliable engines, but they needed to work more than normal and that called for quick on the job repairs more often than not.
Clives mentor was considered to be one of the best welders in Buffalo where Clive was mainly stationed on for smuggling runs, learning the odds and ends of each ship that came in and out and how they ran. He liked to take a quick scan of a ships engine compartment, but that usually landed him into trouble, and a fight that he could just about handle. But it wasnt without merit, he figured out lots of ways to do on the fly repairs that earned him the nickname Smelter.
Clive was then approached by Rhodri to work on his mining vessel, and at first he declined the honour. But after a few looks at the mining ships engine bay, and a lot of Trafalgar moonshine, he accepted Rhodris offer, and now works as the ships engineer.

Name: Liam Hughes Age: 33 Rank: Flight Officer Ethnicity: Junker Bio: Liam is the son of Clive Hughes, and inherited almost none of the mechanical skills of his father. But he did inherit a jolly attitude, something that either attracts people to him or repels people around him, its just that not everyone is able to like him so hes got his fair share of friends and foes.
He was raised by his father to respect those around him and treat them as he would want to treat them. But that didnt work out very well for him so he holds a mild disdain for those that arent Junkers, since he treats them like his family and theyve done the same to him.
Liams profession is to pilot large cargo ships, and he was pretty good at his job, but it didnt come without its problems. He had to haul all kinds of cargo, legal and otherwise. It all mattered to the partys point of view of the cargo he was hauling. This lead to the police being nosy on more than one occasion on his freight trips, but the Mollies were more nosy, despite his father telling him how to approach them and how to talk to them. But, as usual his disdain got him in trouble with them, but thankfully his father got him out of it. He learned his lesson, and the Mollies were a little more open once he learned their blood was somewhere I his veins.
Liams father now dragged him onto the Spirit of Boudiccas crew, since Clive still hopes he can teach his son how to fix engines and weapons, while Liam knows the basics of mechanics, it'll be pushing it for him to know more.
Liam is now the pilot of the Spirit of Boudicca and is integrating into the crew quite well, despite the slight tension with his father.

Name: Ewan OBrian Age: 34 Rank: Mining Forman Ethnicity: Junker/Molly Bio: Ewan was raised a Junker with a Molly family on Kreuzberg station, and has Junker ideals. Help the family and that is all.
Being raised on Kreuzberg he had to learn how to be independent, and survive around a hostile environment, and quickly. He did this by sitting in bars in the corner, just observing. He picked up handy information about some irritants to Junkers on the side and sold them on. Being a sort of rat for them, but eventually he felt that he actually wanted to earn some cold hard credits on with his bare hands. He jumped onto the nearest CSV and began to hunt for valuable scrap and some other minerals that needed to be collected.
Over the years and after a lot of bounty hunter bribing he managed to land a job as a forman of a small mining ship in the Dublin system. He knew it was under Molly control and he cut a deal with them. He mines Gold, he returns weapons and basic supplies. This was a tense time in his life as he was wary that he wasnt the most welcome person despite his Molly blood. But he was glad to be alive and earning some honest money.
Rhodri heard of his work out in Dublin, and in a meeting in a bar, offered him the spot as chief miner, or Mining Forman as Rhodri calls it. Ewan agreed and is now in command of a dozen miners in the various fields the Spirit of Boudicca flies in and out of.

Name: Spirit of Boudicca Class: Mining Ship Junker Class Age: 78 years Armament:
7 x Transport Class III Turrets Weapon System
3 x Modified Ore Extractor Systems
1 x Enh. Countermeasure System Cargo Capacity: Four cargo bays, 2,750 standard cargo units Propulsion:
2 x Class IV Junker modified Rheinland cargo engines
6 x Class II Junker modified Rheinland cargo engines History: This ship has had a rough history in its aging lifetime and has seen many battles, and many more types of minerals and cargo entering and exiting its Herculean cargo bays.
This vessel was originally a Kruger Mineral company mining ship, before it was somehow liberated from its parent company from a group of Mollies and Junkers. But to make sure the law never recognized the vessel, the Junkers had to modify all of the ships engines and recognition code, effectively costing a lot of credits and time. It spend ten years as a side project for the Junkers and it was barely used at the time of its liberation. But overtime new or repaired components were found and installed into the Mining Ship. Some say the parts come from Omega 5. But, how could there be nine engines of this class out there? Or maybe a mining vessel was abandoned to damage and the Junkers had their way with it. Who knows?
This ship is also rumoured to have a violent temperament as its unreliability it attributed to its almost monthly downtime that earned it a feminine nickname from its Junker liberators. But since the Mollies and Junkers had to work together to get this beast of burden, they decided to give it a name to fit its personality. Boudicca the old leader of the long gone Celtic civilization, from many millennia ago on Earth. But the Junkers felt it was more of a spiritual nature the ship had, the Junker pilots that helped them were religious to a degree. So in the end, it was named Spirit of Boudicca.
This ship since its launching at Trafalgar, has been mining scrap and other various minerals in the name of benefiting the Molly and Junker economy, and ferrying large amounts of cargo that benefit each party. Be it legal or otherwise.
The current captain is Rhodri Jones and his ragtag crew of Mollies and Junkers.
What fate awaits this vessel and her crew? Only time will tell.

Disturbing Iridium
After another hard day of mining gold in the Dublin system, the Spirit of Boudicca was on its way to Rochester base to unload the hold of gold onto the black market. Every gold shipment that the ship hauls can bribe a few small wings of LPI to turn a blind eye to the local Junkers ‘profitable’ business.
While on the way to the base, the crew are asleep with tired Liam on the helm, cursing every boring minute as the bland space rolls by the external hull cameras. But he kept himself a little busy with a crate of tobacco and his fathers stash of Belfast Moonshine.
The captain however was having a rough time sleeping, as he had to explain to the Mollies, Junkers and Zoners about what happened to the hired hands while mining the Iridium in Omicron Delta. It was meant to be a standard fair of mining, keeping the gun pointed at the hunters, and most importantly keeping an eye for anything… non human. Or so the Zoners say.
***Accessing Report Spirit of Boudicca ‘A-3’*** Written by: Rhodri Jones
Well, I’ve been asked to write up as to why… or what happened in Omicron Delta several weeks ago. Well, I’ll start as to why the Spirit was out in such a far flung system. Mainly, it was for the money, and that was with Iridium. That stuff was very rare, and would be… a good bargaining chip on the black market, in our hands off course.
However, we only got rough co-ordinates of the system since we had to bribe a rather odd Zoner off the co-ordinates to the system, it was through Corsair space. I hate those cannibalistic rogues; they’re nothing but thugs and hit men with a poor taste in food. Sadly, to preserve the ship, and the crew, I had to bribe my way into their ‘don’t kill on sight’ list. That is one bribe, I really did not want to do, but I’ll make that money back, and then-some, with some good intel that I can sell on to the Outcasts.
After a long trip through some odd systems, we arrived at Freeport 11 and intact thankfully. We then hired some locals who wished to mine on our ship, we picked a few miners up and made our way to the Iridium fields. The locals warned us to take care for the ‘Nomads’, I have only heard tales of them, and thought they were some strange faction of religious zealots. But apparently, their aliens, strange as it may sound. But, as long as they keep away from me and our money, we’ll be alright.
Sadly… that was not, it… it wasn’t the case. I think it’s better if this went into the audio logs of what happened that day. I don’t want to type this up.
***Opening ‘A-3’ audio log attachment***
Rhodri Jones –
Ewan, report time mate, how’s the mining going out there?
Ewan O’Brian –
All good, just a hunter now and again to keep the miners on their toes, we’re nearing ninety percent capacity in the cargo bays. Should be done in less than fifteen minutes.
Rhodri Jones –
Sounds good, let me know if anything strange, well, violently strange happens all right.
Ewan O’Brian –
Will do, out.
Approximately 10 minutes later
Liam Hughes –
Hey, I got a weird sensor reading on the CISS, (Close In Sensor System) no IFF’s, no codes, nothing but weird returns.
Rhodri Jones –
What are they? Ships? Debris? Are you sure it’s even a vessel?
Liam Hughes –
Well, I’ve in all my years never seen debris heading towards us at cruise speed!
Rhodri Evans on intercom –
All hands, return to the ship immediately we’ve got company! Get back into the cargo bays and seal the doors!
Stuart McKay–
May I suggest we fire up the engines? Those things may catch a miner before he’s back in?
Rhodri Jones –
I won’t leave a miner out there, move the weapon arcs into a good position to defend, Clive power up the weapons! Liam, take us into firing position.
Clive Hughes –
Yeah I’m on it, shunting power to the weapon systems!
Liam Hughes –
Rotating into position, bring it on! I’ve been looking for a fight!
Ewan O’Brian –
Rhodri, we’re boarding now! But there’re still stragglers out there!
Stuart McKay –
I got the ships in sight, they’re firing on the open air locks!
Clive Hughes –
Sir, those weapons pack a wallop! Shields weakening!!
Liam Hughes –
Come on Ewan we gotta go!!
Ewan O’Brian –
Just ten more seconds that’s all I need!
Stuart McKay –
Returning fire! By God those things are fast! This will take time!
Rhodri Jones –
We don’t have time!
Clive Hughes –
Shields collapsing!
Stuart McKay –
I got one sir! Oh no, the shields are gone! Their energy readings are going erratic! They’re firing!
Clive Hughes –
Sir the airlocks have been hit by some kind of… uh I’ll get back to you on that what the--
Ewan O’Brian –
We’re aboard, but I got injured down here! You get the medkit now! This one is convulsing!
Stuart McKay –
The Nomads are falling back, looks like some Hunters intervened.
Rhodri Jones –
Good, Clive stabilize all systems get the engines up, rip power from the weapons. Liam, get us the hell out of here to the Freeport!
Liam Hughes –
Aye, charging engi--- hang on, the engines aren’t responding…
Stuart McKay –
The core is shutting down, all systems are failing, shunting available power to life support systems.
Liam Hughes –
Tadcu, what’s going on down there! Where’s my power?
Clive Hughes –
---
Ewan O’Brian –
What the hell! Stuart! Get your pistol and lousy arse in gear! My own miners are fighting each other! Hey! Yeah you just try it you little-- *shots fired, screams are heard in the background*
Rhodri Jones –
What’s going on down there? Ewan respond!
Ewan O’Brian –
I’m *cough* down mate, they went to enginee-- *thud*
Rhodri Jones –
Ewan? Ewan!! Stuart get down there now!
Intercom –
All hands, there is a group of miners attacking each other in cargo bay 3, arm yourself and await Stuart’s arrival! Shoot to disable at best, I say again, try not to kill them!
Liam Hughes –
What you want me to do? I gotta get to my dad!
Rhodri Jones –
You stay the hell in here, and lock the door. As soon as we restore power, full speed Boudicca back to the Freeport.
Liam Hughes –
A-a-all right, but please, help my dad!
Stuart McKay –
Rhodri, its best you stay here, who knows what’ll happen. We need someone to pay us when we get back.
Rhodri Jones –
All right, get going and be quick about it!
Engineering intercom – *Pistol fire can be heard with loud screaming* Argh!! What the hell is with them?! Why are they firing on us!? What the--- no, no!! *Audio cuts out*
Rhodri Jones –
What the hell… biohazard warning?
Liam Hughes –
This isn’t good… the core is destabilizing!
Rhodri Jones –
Stuart, do what you got to do, use lethal force if necessary, the core is in need of repairs, they must be trying to tamper with it. Get in there, kill anyone who looks at you funny.
Stuart McKay –
Aye, will do. All right guys, get the pistols charged, and stay alert! GO GO GO!!
Engineering intercom – *Gunshots are heard and an explosion* What the… his eyes… what the? Don’t gawk shoot! *More gunshots are heard*
Stuart McKay -
I found Clive, he’s hurt, but stable, but we’ve got a problem, the shielding for the core is hit and leaking gas everywhere!
Clive Hughes –
Vent… vent….
Rhodri Jones –
He can’t mean… all hands! Get out of engineering! Seal it off! Turn on your EV suits now! I’m going to vacuum engineering! Stuart, secure engineering!
Stuart McKay –
Already done, we’re clear and ready down here, had to patch Clive with the stimfoam.
Liam Hughes –
Vent command ready, thank God he’s alright…
Rhodri Jones –
Vent engineering now!
Engineering intercom – *A voice is heard as the vents open up* Human… unclean… filth— *The room fills with silence as whatever was left in the engineering room is blown into space*
Rhodri Jones –
Cymru forgive me… Restore engineering.
Stuart McKay –
Hey, Clive can you repair the core? Can you walk?
Clive Hughes –
This is nothing but a scratch, I just need to realign the magnetic stabalizers, then redistribute the power, and we’re set. What the hell just happened?
Stuart McKay –
No idea, but I got to go check on Ewan, just work on getting us out of here!
Audio attachment ends
After those events… the core was stabilized, and we set a course to the Freeport to count our losses.
Ewan was alive, but he’s gonna have to carry a head wound for the next few weeks; he was knocked out before the real gunfights occurred. But, we lost thirteen miners that day; five Mollies, six Junkers and two Zoners. That is a price no captain needs to pay, pirate or navy.
We still don’t know exactly what happened to cause the crew to riot, nor an explanation to the glowing eyes the rest of the crew has been talking about. We did however manage to trace the riot beginning around the time the Nomads fired on the open air locks with an apparently non-fatal energy. We have no idea if it even was energy.
This has lead to high tension in the crew since the trust is low, and a fear of another fight is boiling in their eyes.
After we got repaired, and ‘inspected’ by some weird shady people, we were told to get out of the system. Not waiting, we fired up the engines and made full speed back to Trafalgar. This is one shipment, where the price, cannot be reclaimed by credits.
These Nomads… who, or what are they? Never again will I set foot into these systems.
Signed
Captain Rhodri Jones of the Spirit of Boudicca
