I would say it really depends on the situation. Would definitely not support it being conducted in your own situation Fletcher (read 1versus1).

However, if you were outnumbered, it would be an option, yes.

Hmm, I guess there is truth in that, but I was the outnumbered one, almost all the time.

I had that Navy gunboat. I couldn't see a thing in there at all at all. Just lots of... cloud.

I'd say it's a bit unfair to circle around a base tossing mines out - at least if the base is hostile to whatever you're fighting. Those mines could hit the base, after all...

Q: Is it ok to smoke in a port-o-potty after you fart?
A: Apparently Not.

Honestly, I don't usually do it unless its a massively unfair fight, and even then, people QQ to me about it, even though its a completely viable tactic.

Believe it or not, but saving your own skin through any means necessary is something you CAN do.

Speaking of that Rogue destroyer, I've encountered it 3 times now, and keep forgetting it's there. The first time was when DSE gave my Starflea a mission in the debris field just beyond it.

I will happily sit next to a stationary battleship. Tossing mines out next to one just seems a little iffy.

I do it all the time, ever heard of the isis?

Rips things to shreds, it does. Half the order people (including me) just hide behind it.

Anyway, its not a bad tactic. Use it to your advantage.

I would say it is alright to do it, with limits. Doing it for a whole fight is just stupid, doing it once or twice then yeah, sure.
