Well it's mostly people from a faction updating that faction's entry..
Of course there are exceptions.
It's not very hard, I was a total beginner and I made the Colonial Remnant NPC and player faction entries, and updated a lot of ships and systems.

Move this to flood if you are paranoid. I just wanted to update stuff and wondered was my IP supposed to be validated by an admin to get the editing rights.
No you misunderstood me. I wasn't implying that you spam the forums, but that editing the wiki is as easy as writing a forum post and you know your way around bbcode, which is similar to the wiki code, just has other symbols.
And no, you don't need anyone to approve you, you just have to register and log in.
