Liberty Marine Corp file 653 (LMC)
Section 1 - 22nd Space Force Brigade
Ever since the beginning of the new colonial era, the prospect of land warfare has been relatively dim a menace for Liberty, close to nonexistent. Such encounters happened highly irregularly and has never required much more than small numbered intervention forces, mostly to answer terrorist actions or to perform special operations. Over the years, the Liberty Navy has always remained the largest and most powerful branch of our military, charged to defend our nation, while internal security has been assigned to the LPI.
The rising need for a military force capable of land forces encounter has been felt more pressing in recent years due to the increased political tensions between Houses government sectorwide. We must now face the possibility of planetary combat, be it within homeland or abroad, and must be ready to respond to it appropriately.
The LDMA has approved to enlarge the effective strength of the LMC by augmenting the annual budget, as have been stated in the previous file. It is hereby approving the request to augment the total personnel count of the force, as well as the creation of the 22nd Space Force Brigade as a all-purpose force.
The 22nd' goal will be the defense of Libertonian held land. It must be capable to intervene on planets and satellites, with or without atmosphere, as well as space ships and stations. In time of war, the 22nd must be capable to secure any target with opposition's land targets, as well as be able to operate boarding operations against warships, opposition' freight vessels and opposition' station.
The components of the 22nd will include;
-22nd Brigade Headquarter, planet Manhattan
-22nd Regiment, 1st Battalion, planet California Minor, Light Infantry
-22nd Regiment, 2nd Battalion, planet Los Angel, Light Infantry
