After reading the thread about powergaming and thinking about how most of my encounters with the Liberty Navy Independents usually always ends up in combat which I personally don't like when I'm trying to roleplay. Combat seems to be the only encounter but I noticed we have a feature that is hardly used and I think we should. It's called the dice command and it randomly gives you a number. Now I'm not sure how it works in terms of can other people see it but I'll get to my idea.
On my other server all combat is done through emotes either sentences or paragraphs; for example someone told me how they did a long RP trying to hack someone to simply get blown away when it was done, I don't know the exact details but it seems that people would rather kill than to RP which saddens me. Such things can be avoided as another told me hacks seem to be powergamed but there is a easy way to fix this. Allow me to bring up once again the unused dice command.
Let's say Pilot A is attempting to gain access to Pilot B's mainframe to steal some information. Pilot A could make the emote and than Pilot B could emote a defense and they could both roll the dice to see who is victorious. Now while I think that this would be fun for some rp's it wouldn't be good for use all the time as it could be easily abused but I thought I'd mention it to give people to try another type of RP sometime.
I'm sure you could think of other situation where the dice could be hand just remember if your going to use it, don't do it to win do it to roleplay because that's why were here.
