He didn't "control our energy" though, at least that wasn't what I gathered, he gave the wires a good blasting in such a way that we started moving.
I just imagined it as the nomad inputting directives via a complicated sequence of energy blasts. Like playing a piano, except more complicated, and that Harvesters aren't pianos, and many other differences which remain unmentioned.

It's like this... say you have an Remote control toy car (which is exactly what we compared the harvesters to in group chat, heh) - that toy car is made up of specific electronic parts. Sending an electric current to any of those parts has an effect. You send a positive electrical impulse to the engine, it goes forward. Send a reversed impulse to the engine, it goes backwards. Send impulses to the servos in the front wheels and it turns.
Harvesters, despite being somewhat sentient, are not all that different - they run on a network of wires and function by moving electricity through those wires. If an outside force intervenes and forcibly applies that electricity to individual parts of the ship, it has the same effect as if the harvester itself would be applying that current.
