In the constant battle between The Council and the Gallic Forces.
A ship under the flag of the Gallic Royal Navy called the Normandy
was sent out on a mission into Council space.
The Normandy's mission was to find a new Council outpost located
just outside the Champagne > Burgundy jump hole. However it was
unaware of what awaited it on the other side.
Normandy was given few escorts for this mission. Gallic Navy
didn't believe the council would have fortified an outpost, let
alone have a boarding team on hand waiting to capture such a large
vessel.
Early one morning the Normandy set on her journey toward
the Burgundy > Champagne jump hole. The crew being told that it
was commencing a simple hit and run mission. The entire crew was
at their stations during this mission. Prepared for any patrols
that may have accidentally flew into the range of Normandy's artillery.
She was a fine work of art under the Gallic Navy Flag. Just
like any capital ship is the Royal Navy.
Normandy finally made it to the jump hole. Jumping into Champagne
from Burgundy. Seeing no real hazards, the Normandy continued on to
its given destination. The outpost just large enough to see from where
the Normandy was located. Normandy started to close the distance
from the outpost getting closer and closer getting ready to fire
off her artillery when she was in range.
Normandy's radar system started to buzz, no more than one click away
from her target she was ambushed from all sides from Council ships.
Bombers and fighters filled her radar system flying in at attack speeds.
There sole mission. To disable and capture Normandy.
Normandy's anti fighter weapons started firing at extremely fast speeds
with precision accuracy. The number of council ships was just to much
for the ships defenses to take on. One precision shot at a time from
the bomber torpedoes went into the battery emplacements the Normandy
had. Eventually crippling her defense system and allowing several
boarding ships to come in.
The battle for the Normandy went from the outside of the ship to the
inside in no more than five minutes.
From the outside Normandy looked like a ship that just flew through the
valley of the shadow of death, and came out alive. Parts of her hull
were on fire in many different areas. Debris was floating all around
the ship from the explosions that were caused by torpedoes, along with
countless fighters and bombers of the council that were torn to shreds
by Normandy's guns. In the distance several towing type of vessels
were closing in on the Normandy to tow her to the nearest Council shipyard.
The remaining fighters and bombers swarming the area making sure no
reinforcements would come for Normandy. The Council had her where they wanted.
Inside the Normandy was just as grim as the outside. There was constant
small arms fire on many decks from Council Marines fighting the crew
of the Normandy. Slowly but surely the Normandy was coming under Council
control. Her crew only slowing the process down. The damage caused to
Normandy managed to injure much of the crew. The only final stand that
caused major losses on the Council side was on the bridge. The Captain
of Normandy along with the remaining crew managed to barricade themselves
in and bottle neck the bridge. It took a large fire fight before the
Council forces managed to overwhelm the bridge.
As the Council imprisoned the rest of the crew that didn't want
to die in a fiery battle. The towing vessels already had her and
were towing her to Planet Marne.
At Planet Marne she would be repaired, her remaining crew
imprisoned, and the ship sent back out under the flag of The
Council. Though the towing was taking much longer than
expected. The ship itself was putting up a fight during the journey.
Every step closer it seemed the ship would lose another part.
Causing the team of ships to stop every time. It was a tedious
process, but they continued on.
Almost half way to the planet the biggest challenge came.
The Battleship Rocroi, a Gallic Royal Navy ship, appeared on
radar. It jumped in to Champagne to report to the distress
beacon Normandy let off during the fight. However Rocroi
didnt not get any closer. She kept her distance but watched
as her sister ship was towed. Rocroi was helpless. It knew
it couldn't attack the group for it too would most likely suffer
from the same fate. All she can do was watch and report
the bad news to her commanding officers and the flagship
of the Gallic Royal Navy.
Normandy was now successfully towed to Planet Marne.
The Council had procured a Gallic Royal Navy Battleship.
The only statement that a man said about the matter was.
The Council tried to keep the casualties on both sides
to a minimum.
