I've had a good look around the forums, but haven't been able to see much of anywhere talking about the creation of new Starbases around Sirius. That being said, going from other comments I've read, Starbases seem to be in short supply.
I come from a primarily 2D graphical background, but have some 3d experience having 3d studio max and would be willing to get into building Canon style Starbases for the mod, moving onto anywhere needed really.
I could really do with knowing who to be in contact with, where and how to properly start:)
One system would be to make a solid single component base model, then hitbox that.
However the vanilla style is that of a series of interchangable base components that are then scripted into position via .ini editing in the system creation process.
If you load up a few of the base component cmp and 3dbs you'll understand what I mean by that. In short though:
Make one model, export, hitbox, hardpoint. Not vanilla system. Does not allow for easy modification of design.
Make several components, system editors then use them to construct bases, lots of customisation. Vanilla system of design.
I have created 3 bases but nobody wants to finish them cuz, aperently, the base hitbox is hard to make.
All I make is modeles, .3ds and textures. I need others to finish, once one of these 3 bases I made gets finished, I would love to make more bases.
