I humbly request that you apply a large cattle prod to your mechanics. I have taken my ships in twice now to have the LPI Police light package added. It seems that they can't get it thru their thick heads not to replace them with standard lighting.
Any and all help will be appreciated.

Hack, did you go to a base with "Shipyard" in the name? Also, you have to be in the "Ship Dealer" screen when you enter command /pimpship. I just fixed up my ship with the new lights and it worked perfectly.
same thing happened to me just an hour ago (or so). went through the entire light-changing process, entered /buynow, got kicked, returned, but nothing changed.
Meanwhile in the lost battlestar engineering room....
