Living as a criminal, working for the Kaizoku gang around Liberty, the Omegas... Why did Seiji enter in such 'world'? Yuka Kaizoku saved him from a certain death in the Taus systems. Maybe the reason he worked for Yuka was because he was on debt with her. Maybe that was an honorable way to thank a damsel.
"Working 'for' the Kaizoku gang... Sure, because I never considered myself a 'member' of such group..."
What pushed Seiji to leave the gang? He heard lots of rumours about the Golden Chrysanthemums: Dominant women who usually don't get along very well with the other 'gender'. Maybe Yuka's behaviour could be defined with such words. Seiji was raised on a traditionalistic family, so he soon became tired of following orders from a moody girl.
"I'd rather live in a trench instead of bearing that psychopath ..."
And he finally did it. Flying back to Kusari, he managed to enlist Naval Forces. Then, he was assigned to the Secondary fleet. The Primary fleet members were ruled by a strict codex. But he lacked of such moral codex. He pledged allegiance to the Emperor, but only to be accepted in the fleet. Seiji knew perfectly he wasn't a 'Samurai', because the Emperor wasn't his master.
"Our people are dying in the Bretonian front... And the Naval Forces are always willing to accept new warriors (Regardless of their past) to fight in Leeds... They don't care about those young men and women... So... Why should I fight for the Emperor? I'm just here to earn money, to survive... I'm just a -dishonorable- Rōnin..."

"Konnichiwa Samurai!"
"Arigato, honorable Samurai!"
"How are you, honorable warrior?"
He heard these words everyday. And he just smiled. Seiji felt strange in his own homeland. He didn't deserve to be called 'Samurai', because he forgot what the honor meant. He was just an empty husk.
"Where is my place in Kusari? Am I condemned to wander till the end of my life through Sirius? Our people is battling in a pointless war in Bretonia. On the other hand, our brothers and sisters are killing each other here, in Kusari... I can't stand such situation..."
Seiji usually spent all the time on the dojo after finishing the patrol flights.. The Nagumo dojo was quiet, sometimes a small group of soldiers spent the whole afternoon training with their katanas. However, Seiji preferred to do karate-dō, focusing in the melee combat.
"Why using katanas? The human itself is a perfect weapon..."
He didn't pretend to be a 'sensei'. Doing martial arts helped him to escape from the routine. Even so, Seiji was still confused: Is it worth risking his life just for money as a KNF officer?
