upon the closing of my previous thread were i was asking why unlawfuls cant have researcher ID, i read mudds suggestion. and i thought up a generic scientist/researcher ID

* Can only trade in artifacts, alien organisms, Gaian wildlife, counterfeit software, cardamine, quantum multiplexors, bio-neural processors, nano-capacitors, scientists, and nomad remains

* Cannot escort anyone
* Cannot ally with anyone except the faction your representing
* Cannot attack anyone at all except in self defense
* Cannot place bounties on people
* A Researcher/scientist using the Kusari Explorer/Junker Salvager/Democritus Luxury Yatch cannot use any gunboat weapons, but may use weapons up to Class 5 Fighter turrets, or Class 7 Transport turrets.

Allowed ships: Freighters, Transports, Liners, Kusari Explorer (without gunboat weapons)

Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime. The Researcher ID does not make you immune to piracy or being fined by lawfuls. Pirates and lawfuls may choose at their discretion whether to exempt you.


now, its not hard to implement, and it would make some of the people around here happy

I voted no, the whole researcher/scientist ID is unneeded, there is nothing that this ID can do that you cant with a faction ID.

I see no reason NOT to have the original Research ID, but I also don't see a need to add another. I always viewed the Research ID as a Scientist, but maybe that's just me. And restrictions? Oh well.

What's that you say? Make it a ctrl C ctrl V of the trader ID but called the Researcher ID?

Sounds good to me.

Say leave the Researcher ID in:Pit's of independent RP value. I have no idea why people would use it for anything other then RP properties and formalities. Take my fleet of Researchers...I don't trade I don't fight I don't get robbed why? Cause I'm Rping en scientist researching and exploring around and people leave me well enough alone. Yes, researchers can take samples back to their respectable research centers but nothing like a consistent trade route. But Zigeris people are going to do what they want you'll see researchers trade boron from time to time! Yes I know, just don't suggest removing the ID cause YOU see no value in it. Play the game and ignore things that doesn't pertain to you (mine you by choice).
