Nomads are not supposed to use Armor Upgrades. It is against RP. So I suggest that their hull should be increased by 2.5x for fighters and 3x For Gunboats, 3.5x For Cruisers and 4x For BSes.
Thing with that is it would also throw off their regeneration. Armor upgrades don't multiply armor count so much as they modify the damage taken -- effectively making bots more efficient by pretty much the multiplier by the armor.
I don't have any programs on hand to help me, so I'm going to use wildly inaccurate stats. Be assured my math is sound.
Example 1: Fictional BS has 1,000,000 HP and no armor mod. It is shot with a big nasty gun that does 250,000 damage, and is now at 75% health. The strange unique bots the BS uses to repair fix 200 armor each, so it has to use 1250 bots to be back at full health.
You with me so far?
Example 2: Same fictional BS with 1,000,000 HP now has a 4.0x armor modifier. The same gun is fired at it and does its 250,000 damage, but the armor instead of actually making the BS have 4,000,000 armor instead divides the damage done by the gun. So the gun actually only does 62,500 damage, leaving the BS at around 94% health. With this armor, the BS now only has to repair the 62,500 damage with the same bots that repair 200 armor each. It only has to use 313 bots to be back at full health.
This proposal would either be giving the nomad ships a quarter of the regeneration of regular human-piloted Cap 8 armored battleships, or making them four times more expensive to fly.
This one ain't going to fly. It was an idea, keep thinking of ideas... just this one doesn't work is all.
