Greetings once again, Sirius, this is your Local News Network reporting to you on a breaking story!
All of a sudden, the stock market seems to have hit a snag as ore prices suddenly and inexplicably plummet, nearly halving what they were before! Miners all across the galaxy have gone on strike, refusing to work until they are paid the old, more reasonable prices. Jim LaFae, an independent miner operating out of the nearly mined-out Silverton Field in Colorado, Liberty, had this to say on the situation. "Well, wi' all th'troubles me an' my family are goin' through recently, this is th'last straw. Fer one, th'Silverton fiel's nearly all mined out, an' it's 'ard findin' anythin' o' value left. I do more scrappin' than minin' these days, y'know? Plus, with them Xeeners out there, the occasional 'castie, rogue, or even 'ane hacker, 'tis nearly impossible fer a man to make a livin', 'specially with the near 'ecession caused by th'war. Ah can barely afford ter feed m'family as it is, an' this 'ere is the last straw, know what I'm sayin'?"
We sent an investigative reporter to the local offices of the big corporations stationed on Manhattan, but DSE and local ALG representatives refused to comment. We're also receiving reports that Kruger Minerals and Daumann Heavy Construction, Rheinland corporations, have made the same changes to their prices for purchasing ore, as has Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing. No word yet from Samura in Kusari, though it is expected that they have also made the same changes. Now, back to Tom Futanari with news of the war with Rheinland. Tom?
