Never seen the point in these things, but Eva mentioned she kept one, so I guess it's not useless. Hell, maybe I'll give it to my kids if I have them. Haha.
I guess that's a good place as any to start.
Eva Bloody McDowell.
So, there I was, Rochester bar. Quite literally drinking my last credit away. Feeling real sorry for myself. Yeah, I wasted all the Family's money looking for Katherine. How could I not? You'd think the others would understand... She's related to them too! Gah, anyway.
So I'd heard about this McDowell before. What self respecting Junker hadn't? Hell, alot of people respected her more than the Congress, she sure as hell gets things done quicker. Never expected to ever meet her or anything, but that's exactly what happened. Just walked right up to me, bought me a drink, and managed to pull everything outta me just like that.
Not only did she listen to my sob story about Katherine and the family troubles, but she gave me a room to sleep in, and a bloody ship to captain! Yeah, I can't say I hate the day Eva McDowell walked into my life, and literally gave me a new one.
But anyway, she set me up with the Tiesto, and a crew. It was a Salvager, she musta had it lying around or sommat. It was similar to the Shovel... Few things were rearranged, but it worked in the same way. Has some pretty decent guns on it too, good for blasting those damn Xenos when they come knocking.
Which they do.
Frequently.
Bastards.
Anyway, it's set up in Texas at the moment, stripping off some hulk that are left over from the last battle there.
Me? Well I know Eva told me I could do what I want after I paid her back... But I can't let this lead run cold. I picked up some guy's old Collector, on my way to Kusari.
Gonna stay off the radar, next stop, Ainu Depot and the Golden Crysthanemums.
Someone there must have info on Katherine.
Log one ends.
Congratulations on making your first log!

Well, it's good to know the Kusari Naval Forces apparently have KoS orders for Junker ships. I guess that'll teach me to zone out. I made it to Ainu Depot, after dodging the KNF Patrol that noticed me in Kyushu. Noticed me with guns.
Entered the Hokkaido system via a jumphole in a cloud of some sort, came out into another cloud, and made my way towards where Ainu was supposed to be. It proved harder to find that expected, but eventually a Chrysanthemum patrol picked me and brought me in.
Where I met Reni Hanako. I recorded the conversation:
Reni.Hanako: Konnichiwa, male. Malcom.Walker: Uhh, hi. Nice station. Hard to find, but. Reni.Hanako: I'm much more interested in how you did find it. Or why? Malcom.Walker: Well, contacts mean everything in my business... A few friends in the Congress have been here before? As for why... Well, Junkers are great for info... Not so much in Kusari. Reni.Hanako: Hai, the congress have been here before. And I don't see how Junkers need information from Kusari. Malcom.Walker: They don't. I do. Reni.Hanako: Well, what and why? You probably won't like what your looking for, however. Malcom.Walker: I'm looking for someone. Managed to track her to Kusari... Up until now I haven't had the cash to follow up on the lead. Reni.Hanako: So. Either your a beggar, which would be right for the Junkers... Or you think I'm somehow connected. Malcom.Walker: Maybe. But it was either the Cysthanemums or the Dragons... And considering who I'm looking for, I thought you'd be a better choice. Reni.Hanako: Still haven't told me what or who Malcom.Walker: My sister. Katherine Walker. I've got nothing but her name, a description, and that she was spotted on New Tokyo a few months ago. Reni.Hanako: Uh huh. And what makes you think I visit New Tokyo on a daily basis? Malcom.Walker: I don't. But, given she was kidnapped, I thought perhaps -someone- in the GC might have a lead. Reni.Hanako: People don't like what they're looking for even if they do find it. Despite that, they foolishly think they still will. Let's assume I have, hmm? So, what do you want to know? Malcom.Walker: Well I can't exactly just give up, she's my bloody sister! I want to know where she is, obviously. A lead, anything that'll get me closer. Reni.Hanako: You may be related, but that will only make you hate it more Malcom.Walker: What do you know? Reni.Hanako: Hmph. I saw her a few times, yes. She was...different than normal. Malcom.Walker: Where?! And... what do you mean? Was she hurt? Reni.Hanako: Well. She didn't seem hurt. And she was merely different, as I said. To where? Kusari, naturally. Malcom.Walker: Where in Kusari? Was it Tokyo? Reni.Hanako: If she was on Tokyo, then I wouldn't have seen her, silly male. In space, mostly. On a station occasionally. Malcom.Walker: Who has her? Schultz? Mathers? Reni.Hanako: One of them, all of them, there is no difference, they were together a lot. If she was your sister, you would probably know this Malcom.Walker: What? No, they would of kidnapped her... She was with others? Reni.Hanako: Yes, she was. Malcom.Walker: I need more... Where was she? Do you know who had her? Reni.Hanako: As I said, not really. And if I did, I wouldn't tell a male. But. If you prove good intentions. I could send a few files over. Malcom.Walker: All I want is to find my sister. After that I'll be out of Kusari, probably for good. Reni.Hanako: If you can get out that is. Do you have proof of her being your sister? Malcom.Walker: I uh... Other than the resemblance? We're not exactly on any government records. Anywhere. Reni.Hanako: Great, good faith. People are never as trustworthy as they appear in this universe. Fine. *She sends over a file* That might inform you of something ot another. Malcom.Walker: T-Thankyou! Will you be on Ainu long? Reni.Hanako: I'll be here for a while, unless I die or have a lead of my own, hai. Malcom.Walker: Alright. Thankyou so much... I'll get in touch if I need something else.
She played vague, or maybe that's just her. She knew why I was there, yet still acted as if she didn't... I guess it was to test me?
Anyway... This file. It's got some photos, amongst a few other documents. I'm still reviewing it. It's Kat alright. She... I don't know. These pictures mean nothing till I've seen her with my own eyes.
It's unbelievable. Honestly.
I'm really having a hard time believing what I've read in these pages given to me by Reni Hanako.
They're... They seem to be the Chrysanthemum brief on an organisation known as the Consortium. I've heard of a Zoner group going by the name... But I really don't think they're the same bunch. Not given what's here.
They've been allied with the GC, for military reasons, it seems. Apparently they haven't said alot about themselves to the GC, but their skills are apparently unparalleled. They excel in whatever field they need... They opened their ranks to the GC, allowing Sisters to join if they wish... They aren't the same afterwards.
More importantly, it's mentioned that the Consortium takes GC prisoners when they're done with them, somehow brings them into their ranks as willing soldiers. It's surmised that there's some sort of thought control, as crazy as it sounds. But the real kicker is something that's mentioned briefly.
Kidnappings.
It seems the Consortium also seek individuals with certain talents, that won't be missed, for this indoctrination. It's not a solid lead, really... But if the Consortium really do have Kat....
Well, suffice to say. They picked someone that's missed. Dearly.
