SRP Renaming Conundrum

I have an already approved, flown, and well, formerly widely known, Special Op ID'd Spyglass named, of all things, Finnegan's.Wake.

I have been mostly server absent lately, but am workin my way back in of late, and find myself wanting to use that name, for obvious reasons (see sig). I figure that gallavanting around in a Spyglass is bound to cause no end of trouble, and would like to rename this vessel 'The.Wake'.

It's original intent, to be the 'Claymore of Invergordon', as Finn is RP'd as the current clan chief of Clan Gordon, is unchanged as is her duty station, where she is docked and runs occasional patrols through Inverness. (She'll come in right handy come the Gallic invasion, I'll warrant!)

I would like to then recomission a new Pilgrim liner and christen her the new Finnegan's.Wake, as that was my original ship, going into the SRP so long ago.

Now, here lies me problem...
All SRP's now require that they come through a faction leader, and the Wake is unaffiliated, except as a Junker convoy escort and protector of Invergordon, with far too 'loose' ties to the .:j:.Congress for me to ask them to go out on a limb for it.

I daren't file a goofy unofficial SRP request just to ask for a namechange, and am afraid that if I just go ahead and do the rename, that I will lose the SRP I worked so hard for, and I hope will soon be utilized more with the new release, and that I do not want to risk.

I honestly don't think that a namechange is that big of a deal to warrant an entirely new SRP request but if that is the case I highly doubt anyone would turn you down. The way you roleplayed that Spyglass would earn you a bleeping medal. You have me vouching for you, as much as that'd help anyways...

Do what you want with it. You've earned it. If anyone tries to say otherwise they'll have to go through me. There is absolutely no reason you should need to get rid of a ship or have any restrictions on where you can take its roleplay or aesthetics once you already have it. Just make sure to inform an admin first on the name change so they can factor it in.

Any faction leader can post any SRP. You do not need a specific leader due to the SRP's contents.

If you want an SRP for a Gallic cruiser for instance. I could post it for you. Will I? Entirely depends on the SRP app you give me and if I and the other faction leaders I talk to like it.

That said. New SRPs are closed. If you want to make changes to one you already have. Talk to an admin in private.

Well, I don't think changing name is any problem at all, the SRPs are tied to person and certain character, not the name, don't even think you need anyone to approve it, just have to inform admins about the new name, so you won't get "Ahh, some guy stole ship and isn't in SRPs, call the hammer squad!".

The SRP's are also tied specifically to a character name unless it's a special one that was approved for a group of players. Basically PM us so we can throw it out in our chat, stab at it with a rusty fork for a couple of days, and then we'll see if it's tender, juicy, meaty, and succulent - or not...

Ok-
I have PM'd both Agmen and Dieter Schprokets, under whose post my SRP approval and info is filed in the SRP directory.

In short order, unless otherwise told not to, I will be changing the name of Finnegan's.Wake to Claymore.O'Gordon, so that I may put the name Finnegan's.Wake to more regular use.

The stated intent, ZOI, and overall RP will NOT change for the vessel, it will be a simple namechange.
In fact, It's likely the ship will be seeing less action under it's new name...for now.

Dieter is no longer an admin. That will make things problematic.

If you have PMd Agmen and received no reply contact Cannon, Bear, Doc, drop the request as a report, jump up and down.

But, if you do rename the ship without getting a thumbs up, be warned that you might end up spending a few moments in the pokey should you be spotted on the fly.

Edit: I'll try throwing this thread at some people to remind 'em it exists.
