I would like to perhaps eliviate your fears about the contents of our supply convoys. You fear that the black market is full of stolen goods drenched in the blood of innocnets. I would like to enlighten you to the reality.

I will admit freely, the goods are stolen, but only if stolen means they are sold on to us from sympathetic citizens and business men, who wish not to fund the Crown with taxes and tarrifson thier goods, who would instead prefer to have thier good reach those who need them, without having to raise prices to compensate for the taxes our greedy nobles and monachy force upon them.

Just today I delivered to your comrades on Reims station 4000 units of Bio neural processors, smuggled out from the shipyards of the royalists by our brave family members after they where delivered, in small enougth quantities that they would not be missed. Now you have components fit for royalist battleships to equipt and upgrade your own vessels, and we leave with compensation fitting for the risks taken smuggling these goods to you, and with not one drop of blood spilled for your cause.

We may not share in your idealised view fully Mon Ami, but we both share a dislike for the oppresive ruling class we live under, does this not make us allies on some level?

You waste your breath rationalizing your actions, at least to us. We do things far darker than thievery for the cause, the morality of your petty crimes is of no concern. You use the words "drenched in the blood of innocents" as hyperbole... I do not.

While your contributions are appreciated, they have been a bit scarce of late. A supply of bio-neural processors is very useful for rapid-response teams, but we can loot those from IDF transports too. Your strength is in your ability to negotiate with everyone, to move through society without raising alarms. That strength has gone untapped, and there are whispers questioning your loyalty.

If you wish for a supply of credits from us above and beyond what you are paid for your goods, show that we'll be getting our money's worth. Though Council takes offense to your request, I am not so stupid as to believe every ally we find for the cause will help out of the goodness of their hearts. You serve yourselves, and I accept that. However, it means that you need to demonstrate your willingness to do what must be done a little more than most would.

A show of force is what I ask for. Demonstrate that paying for your services is a worthy use of our scant funds. I'll leave it to you to decide what that means, but personally I'm fond of assassinations. Show us what you can do, and I'll see if there is money to spare. However, until you've convinced me, no deal.

You raise an intresting point Mon Ami, Us Corsican's are almost everywhere this day and age, on both sides of the conflict, exposed or other wise. We could well use that for many many purposes....assasination being one of them. Payment? Perhaps you misunderstood. I have, as of yet, not deigned to purchase your services. I will continue to not purchase services from your organization until such time as you have restored my confidence in your usefulness to our cause- the onus is on you to convince me. As I have not commissioned you for any specific task, no payment is offered. I have simply suggested a course of action that may restore my faith, and as part of the test I leave you to your devices. What you lack in creativity you make up for in comedic value. I swear that everyone in the border worlds is both blind and deaf, you'd think that after a thousand years of technology since the radio was invented, voice quality would be such that one might notice that the person speaking is female... but I digress. I'm used to it by now, even Grand Marshal LaCroix has this problem. It's also been quite some time since I encountered someone offering the services of a common hooker... after all, I haven't seen Athenais crawling around for months. But enough of that.

While it's nice to know that Lieutenant Corrumpu is no more, I note that you still seem to be under the illusion that I am presently contracting you for services. I am not. I am offering suggestions on ways that you might show me that your services are worth my money, a resource I do not have in great abundance. It may be some time before the Royal Police promotes someone else as annoying as Corrumpu, but in the big picture he was an isolated dot in the sea of troubles facing us. In fact, while he was annoying to our smaller operations, he was probably just as much of a nuisance for you.

While you've shown that there is at least some desire amongst you to prove yourselves, you've yet to show power or creativity. I could have run that "assassination" myself were I a decade or so younger, and as I mentioned previously you gained as much from this as we did. If I wanted people who know how to put on tight clothes I'd ask our friends the Brigands for some slightly used... what did they call them... "servicewomen", I think it was. That's not what makes the Corse useful. Your skills lie in manipulating the infrastructure, getting people on the inside of things with competent security systems, acquiring rare goods, the works. Brute strength or loose women I can get from the Brigands. Fake press cards are all over the black market. Show me something more impressive, something the Brigands or Council couldn't do.

This was better than nothing, and it's reassuring to know that you're willing to try. But I'm not convinced yet. Keep the reports coming, surely you can do better.
