I know this has been done in the past and I did a bit of reading. Its kinda died as of late and there was alot of finger pointing in the past on this as well.
So..
I'm re-hashing the idea but with a few refinements.

So,
I have setup 4 camera drones. These drones exist to take pictures. They are all hawks with the most basic of equipment with armour MKII upgrades.
Why not camera ships?
well they dont exist in RP for a start and its nearly impossible to shot the little buggers for second. So its a NO-NO. Also a hawk when it fly's is in the bottom part of the screen which frees up a fair amount of your screen to take pics with.
The other point is...
they can get shot at...
thats right. You can shoot at the camera's if its seeing something you dont want made public. They have civvy ID's and no guns.
Some people like to RP as AI, I personally dont. So you the reporter can open a feed through the drone and talk to the people around you (local only).
anything written is "from perspective"
IE: If you come accross a rhineland -> RHA battle and its 5 RM attacking 2 RHA. You write it -as- you see it. If it started as a 5 on 5 doesn't matter. Its your perspective that counts.
So apart from writing what you see you can do two other things.
You can request interviews with parties. Such as:
"Kirisho create breakthrough in optronics! See inside!"
If you would like to write something like that you can get that factions permission and interview someone in the faction about this breakthrough.
In the same vein people can ask us for an interview on something they wanna do or on something they want to be made known to the public.
If a faction gets...
Lets say a Samura is caught smuggling. The person who caught this samura may ask us for an interview and you write it as a one sided article. You might end it off as "Well readers, Samura turning pirate or was this one a lone agent? You decide!"
You can also write an article on say..the order
"Interview with an order agent- Heroes to some, Terrorist to others"
Where you interview someone from the faction.
There will be a couple strict rules in terms of reporter conduct.
No interviewing your own chars, its just silly and it can become power roleplay fast
No articles on omnoms. We are trying to be a respectable newspaper here. Alot of people dont beilieve they exist and it would hit too many groups roleplay. LSF for one are covering it up.
If someone asks you oocly, with good reason to not post an article. Dont. This is about creating RP opportunities for alot of people rather than squashing people's RP. Its a newspaper, not a weapon.
On a last note. It would be up to you the player to decide what you dont what to know as a character. The onus is not on us to write things that your character can know, the onus is on you to decide what articles interest your characters.
I would want to include two other things. A general gossip thing that is just there for RP giggles and ads that exist purely for the lolz.
An example here:
someone took Zoey Sakura's sig and turned it into a shampoo ad, just light hearted fun.

Also when you post your thoughts also post if you would be interested in being a reporter for this, you would essentially get on the Skype, get access to the drones and you can write articles.
While idea is good, it's not easy to implent. If you wish to work on it - you're welcome.
Don't forget, before posting any media posts, you need to agree everything with all factions involved.
No he doesn't... as long as it is only the hard facts, and truth being presented they can't say a thing. In RP if they dislike being talked about, thats up to them to do something about it.
