A private terminal flickers on, the video feed slowly refined as signal gains power. He narrows his eyes.
"What was it this time? This time, indeed, so that you've flown a fleet to assault the Zoners alongside the Bounty Hunters who'd decided to insist on molestation of our distant harbor."
He inhales deeply, stuffing his hands into the pockets of his synthetic-leather vest. Turning somewhat to face off screen before looking back at the terminal.
"I've been called traitor by my own people for defending Corsair people against the blanket of aggression that seems to do naught but thicken and grow larger. Both ways this smothering anger is directed, and no more painfully felt than by this 'traitor' indeed. I've sacrificed my good name in front of the Zoners, openly firing upon fellow Zoners who'd invaded Gamma to enact pointless revenge upon your families.
"By what foolishness did I ever believe I could let some ideal could be reached, that we'd prosper in our own ways, and things would resume the balance it held before. Now we have Zoners Guard captains infuriated and lashing out at people like myself, for what I'd done. I have nothing to defend myself with, nothing left to defend you with from people who'd just come to a calm reasoning that bygones were bygones, and who now find your ships actively assisting the Bounty Hunters in some ill-conceived 'holy war' started by a madman."
A sigh escapes the weary man, he slowly shakes his head as his shoulder drop from their rigid poise. He inserts a disk into the terminal. An image log takes the screen.
"I'm at a loss for words, I really am. As my promise stood, I have a transport piloted by a trusted member of my crew, who still takes food supplies to and from Crete. He still shall, though you can understand my hesitation on telling that man and his crew that my promise still holds ground.
"In short, what are you people even thinking? We expect the occasional misunderstanding and fiasco such as with the Z.S.S. insisting on assaulting your people. Though active alliances forged to destroy Zoners? I merely wish clarity on your reasons, that much I have hope that I deserve for what I've done in my recent past."

Buon giorno signore,
I am not sure the clarity you seek even exists within the Corsair Empire right now.
I have spoken to several independent Corsairs on this matter and almost all have expressed differing opinions.
So far i have neither heard nor seen an announcement from the Council.
I have submitted this matter to the Council and my immediate superior, and i hope that they are currently deliberating on this matter.
Even i await their decision with abated breath, for the balance of power in the Omicrons rests now, on their shoulders.
I hope i have answered your question appropriately.

gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
SOURCE: Imperial cruiser "Thetalos", high orbit over Crete ENCRYPTION LEVEL: As per opened channel DESTINATION: Corsairs; captain Izii Helfari
Captain Helfari, you might remember me. I am captain Corazon Santiago, and more than once I stood by your side and your good will towards the Corsair Empire. Know that I understand your disappointment; unfortunately, what the hermano Ezio asnwered only respond to the truth. The COuncil of Elders is lately retired in an almost complete silence, possibly due to the rather delicate peace talks with the Zoners of Freeport 9. Until the Elders decide to address our nation, no clear guideline is reaching the various factions of the Empire.
Added to this, you have to consider that the Black Sails have always been somewhat... enthusiast about their fighting skills, and always overly eager to put them to use. This attitude often served the Empire quite well, and the consequently well-earned pride in this case only added a further element of instability to the equation.
As much as I keep addressing fellow Corsairs pleading for a more moderate approach, mine is just a single voice. Let us all hope that the Elders solve this situation with their intervention as soon as possible.
Unfortunately there's no official statement with reason stating either reason for war, or war itself officialy. Personally I don't consider Zoners to be my enemies (and don't really support "war" effort) and stay out of encounters with them, however my answer doesn't carry neither official approval, nor its weight.
Still it doesn't mean I'll tolerate any kinds of raiders in Omicron Gamma, though - would they belong to the Order, Zoners, Junkers or our long-term opposition like Gas Miners Guild, Mandalorian Mercenaries or Red Hessians.
