Just because the glorious independent mining guild doesn't grace us with their presence, does not mean those fields are empty. People often come to chat or trade.
Also, taking gold ore through omega 49 would seem to be rather the long route. But that's fine, because corsairs wander all over Dublin, Leeds, New London and Cambridge. They're in the Omega 3 and 7 and sometimes even in Magellan!
