yes as you can see i have a probelm with my turrets.
no matter what happens, or in defult view-turret view, my turrets always aim at my mause's location, but as most players and npcs do they aim their turrets at the turrets defult aim locations, you may notice this if you see a battleship of a liberty dreadnough, all turets looking at different ways (defult aiming) . well i cant do this, my turrets always follow my mause no matther what. But they can even aim their turrets at their mauses whenever they want to, something like togle on and off...
can you help me out with this one? its not very important but it sticked in my mind.
All guns and turrets, when in turret mode, will always aim true to where your reticule is. If the direction of aim is out of a turret's firing arc then it'll turn as far as it can. Player turrets, in any case, can only aim in one direction where the reticule is. Players turrets can't aim at different directions at once, but NPCs can.

All turrets always aim the place your mouse is pointing at... The only diferent thing you can do is grupe weapons but I think they will still be pointing where the mouse is.
As you can see no one can shoot in 2 directions in the same time in freelancer.
I was wondering this also but the point is that if you use turret mode or targeting player then other player sees that you aim on him all the time but you really aint.
If you don't target anyone and standing still then turrets will take the default positions same as NPC caps or for example Battleship Missouri when it's not firing it's just you don't see it yourself.
I know this because i tested it myself and left my Liberty Dread infront of manhattan and used my another computer to check it's turret positions and they were just like NPCs position.
NPC and base weapons all target independantly, that's why they can be pointed at different targets. This behaviour is not possible for players, who only have one focal point for weapons. What you're trying to do is sadly not possible, due to game mechanics.

Actually, there is a way to fire in multiple directions at once, I believe the default is the ' key. (That's the apostrophy or quote key if shift is held). You cannot however aim those shots, they simply go where the turrets are "currently" pointing, which is usually the default position.
Actually with what chase said, I do believe one or two turrets do point in the correct direction. However that amount of damage is senseless and would get you no where. Which goes back to the point that it can not be done effectively.
i think vex's answer solved the problem, as i get it from what he wrote, after some time you stop moving the aiming, the turrets will return to defult locations but its just you cant see it yourself
