And, Dusty Lens, sounded perfectly acceptable. A lot of people will place //, OOC, etc. in front even in a private message, but I think it's unnecessary. There comes a time when RP can be taken too far. In private chat, it should be used as necessary, but not as a standard.

True - But i've noticed in my brief time here that OORP chat/conversations in open system are pretty rampant.... i know everyone RP's differently - but there is a lot of it in open system chat and there isnt any //. OOC going on... (in fact, the only time i've seen that is in NY - but that could just be where im going)
I prefer to try and use RP chat in most cases... and sometimes, i want to RP chat BEFORE i start opening up and trying to kill someone... or steal their money in some cases:)- i dunno, but im pretty sure... the insult "noob" isnt RP jargon... (got called that while i was trying to type a RP "pre-stealing someones money chat".. while i was typing, he jumps through a jump gate... apparently in order to RP, i was taking too long)
perhaps i was... and perhaps its my bad... maybe i am a "noob"... forgive me for wanting to RP a little! next time ill just open comm's and say " 2 MIL"... 'cos.. that has depth;)
or maybe im guilty of the "007 -Villain" syndrome... where i take too long revealing the depths of my evil plan and while prattling on... Mr Bond has escaped....

To be fair and you have to agree, you hailed me " halt" i did stop and waitet then your next com was "OK" and that was it, so offcourse i jumped i was in my trader char and as a trader time is money.
The Noob was not at you, but at the Pirate char you have you did not even try to tax me, you only said "you flee`d so now you gonna die" ///ihave ss of that.
i was kind enough to keep IC when i left the system saying "MeepMeep" and it was not my fault that i got tru 3 systems using Jumpholes while you romed around in the first system i jumped too.
I am sorry if i offended you but as RP pirate you did not do it too well, i think as a RP trader i did what was expectet by me, i got away from you while still staying IC.

But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!

nah mate you didn't offend me - The "noob" comment was grating though - the way i see it it's not in char at all... even if it was levelled at my pirate and not at me... ( hmmmm). Noob is a gamer word.... and its said at people who "cant play the game".... or don't know what they are doing (which, to be fair, im still trying to figure out) - maybe its just the way i role play but if you had've said something like "green pirate, fool pirate, better luck next time etc blah blah" i probably wouldn't have cared so much!
Like i said, after i said "ok......." i was typing. What i was actually also trying to do was figure out how much money to ask you for - as i was about to type some kind of scary intimidating pirate-like comment you jumped.... I don't remember what i wrote about shooting you, i think it was something along the lines of "for running your going to die" or something a long the lines... that was actually supposed to be in char btw... ( that is something that someone who is trying to scare you would say, no?)
After that, it was fair game - i didn't mind that you kept running after New Berlin, i actually tracked you as far as Sigma 13 when the server crashed!
i am glad that you took it this way, but let me correct you you did not know what you had to do. Your RP pirating was bad you did not position your self right, you let the trader (me) with a route of escape. and you did not have a plan B. for where i was going. as you said you were in sig13, well i was halfway out of NB again, in the other direction :cool:
